Delhi6 — Restaurant in Florence

Delhi 6 supplied food for my Indian wedding in Tuscany, May 2023.

Pros Food was excellent! Every guest gave us positive feedback, including those who lived in India saying the food was as good as home!

Cons A few family members asked the owner to keep aside food for the immediately family. The owner refused to do so by closing his van and driving off, leaving 4 or 5 family as well as the bride and groom without any food.

No guidance was given to the Italian caterer's and the venue kitchen was left untidy. The Italian caterer's had to spend time cleaning up after Delhi 6's mess. It should be Delhi 6's responsibility to keep the kitchen clean when they use the facilities!

We had opinions on food during our tasting session at the restaurant. The owner was not receptive to feedback and instead became defensive. He brought up in the conversation the negotiated price, complaining that is was too low, instead of discussing topic which was food preferences.

In summary, excellent food but service could have been better. There was a lack of empathy...

Maybe we got them on a bad night, but we had a very bad experience.

The service was really bad - we were ignored and it took ages to order. When they finally took our order they actually got it wrong, so the wrong food was delivered. When we raised this they said we ordered wrong, even though we gave them the numbers on their menu (eg 101, 122 etc).

Also worth saying the food was average. Maybe we are spoiled by Indian options in London but this was a poor effort.

After the ‘wrong order’ discussion all we wanted to do was leave, and even then they were a bit rude and off with us, with zero apologies for our experience.
