Highly recommend taking a walk and coming to visit Edi House. The staff was very friendly and did not seem bothered by me practicing my italian.
The food and drinks tasted amazing!
We had lemon gin tonics and a charcuterie board to share. We then had the Vitello Milanese and the Salmone al limone with pine nuts. The salmon and veal were perfectly cooked and tasted great. The veal had a bed of fresh arugula and tomatoes to balance the plate. The salmon lemon sauce was really fresh and the pine nuts gave it a nice touch.
Finally for dessert we had the lemon sorbet and the mini babas in limoncello. The sorbet was so soft and airy and tasted great. The babas were very flavourful with limoncello and we complimened that with espressos.
It is our first night in Florence and we will try to come back before we leave! The restaurant is very welcoming and has lots of space including a terrace. Try to reserve in advance using the google option just to make sure you get a table. Not too noisy and very well decorated.
For people with allergies or intolerances, the menu itemizes common allergens in specific food items which is really well thought out.
Thank you for the...
Read moreI’ve no idea why this place is only 4.1. I’d leave 6 stars if I could. First, it has the atmosphere that puts you at ease, the quintessentially Italian way. I took a small table by the door on a quiet Sunday evening, with a wonderful view. Being the only non-Italian there made it even more special. It’s a place where elderly couples come for dinner, fathers meet sons, families come by and say a familiar “hi” to the owner and staff, folks from around the corner pick up their pizzas. The place felt one of the most local I’ve visited in Italy. Such a contrast to the rest of Florence centre.
Second, the food. 10/10. Wild boar pasta and tiramisu - unforgettable. I have the feeling the rest of the menu is superb too. All at completely reasonable prices.
Third - service. Top-notch but unpretentious. Attentive, fast, friendly.
So happy I came across it by chance, and definitely...
Read moreWent there after hotel recommendation which offered special menu for 18 euro. After arrival we were presented with a "secret" menu for hotel mesaccio. You can order primi+piatti, insalata+piatti or insalata and pizza. We choose ravioli and penne carbonara for primi. Ravioli was good, served in nice roasted tomato sauce. Penne carbonara wasn't good, the sauce was made on bacon instead of guanciale, they used whole eggs with whites, but there was so little egg it tasted more like cacio e pepe. Next we went for grilled chicken and burger patty. Both were served without any vegetables (in menu it's listed as "con contorno" which suggests a little more variaty). But worse thing is that both meats were absolutly overcooked, the chicken was dry as cardboard, the burger patty was good quality but still got overcooked to...
