This might be the best gelato shop in all of Florence, and possibly the world. Why?
Unlike all other gelato vendors Iâve encountered before, they hide their gelato under lids to keep everything chilled. I asked them why they did this, and they claimed it keeps the gelato creamyâŠand it does! This was the creamiest gelato I have ever had anywhere, and that texture enhances the flavor, too!
They have great flavors! I saw a couple I have not seen elsewhere. I ordered a piccolo cone with hazelnut (a solid staple) and the âSofiaâ, a custard-based gelato with candied oranges. Both were exceptional! Absolutely hit the spot.
Great customer service! The two employees working there were friendly and answered all my questions.
As other reviewers have noted, the store does limit sampling to one flavor. So if you are indecisive and like to try everything, you should probably go elsewhere for your gelato. But if you want nothing but the best, then you HAVE to try this place! I definitely plan...
Read moreWe went there three times, the first time we were met by a lovely lady who introduced us to ricotta with honey which was really good. The send time was met by a very lovely guy who introduced us to cheesecake which was also delicious. Unfortunately the third time went Saturday at around 10pm and was met by an extremely rude lady who was impatient and talked to us with disrespect and we got the most expensive cone she didnât even fill half of it and we knew that wasnât the norm since we had been there 2 times before and was very unpleasant. However I think itâs unfair to judge the place based on a rude worker, therefore will be going a 4th time to give it a chance but if we are met by her upon arrival I will simply not be able to go ahead with purchasing anything as I cannot spend my money in a place where I am met with such disrespect. Especially since there are a lot of good gelato places where I can...
Read moreIf youâre looking for a cozy shop with AMAZING gelato, look no further and head over to La Sorbettiera for the best gelato shop weâve tried during our trip around Italy. đ€© We stayed in Florence for just 3 nights, and coming here has become our daily routine after dinner (we even skipped dinner on Day 2 and had gelato here instead)!
Weâve tried a whole bunch of flavours â our family loved them all but special shout-out goes to âTimballino by Eli Gregâ which is a crunchy hazelnut flavor that tastes like a Ferrero Rocher, âCatrame Cioccolato AL 75%â (a rich dark chocolate) and these 2 flavours go perfectly with âCaffe Arabicaâ (coffee). One more tip is that if you get the piccolo cup/cone, you can ask for 2 ice-cream flavours at ÂŁ3.50. âšâšWhether youâre in Florence in the summer or winter, one thingâs for sure â this hidden gem could also end up being your daily dose of happiness not to...
