'Anything that is imposed on the customer causes a rift,' once said the great Arrigo Cipriani, living master of the legendary Harry's Bar. Well, at this new restaurant in my neighbourhood in Florence they know neither what elegance nor etiquette is. At the centre is not the customer but the money that he or she must compulsorily give them. Here they force you to order meat or you have to leave without eating, even though this 'law' is not written on their menu. They force you to order meat even though there are also many other dishes on the menu. They force you to order meat even if this is not told to you verbally as soon as you enter but a good twenty minutes after you have sat down. Every meat dish must be compulsorily ordered for at least two people (how someone does it if they come alone is still a mystery to me!). So if one dish costs 88 euro, that's already 176 euro just for two dishes. They treated us like we were beggars because we wanted to order two 40 euro dishes to start! They did not explain themselves well in Italian and they laughed in our faces because if we did not order meat we would be thrown out, so they forced us to leave. Normally I really like meat, but if I don't know a restaurant I can't be forced to eat something I don't want, feel squeezed like a lemon and treated badly. On top of all this, the menu in Italian is full of mistakes typical of low-level Asian restaurants, so what are we talking about! This place is the most pretentious and rude restaurant I have ever been to. This is not a Korean restaurant, but a tawdry affair. I strongly advise anyone against going. It's a...
Read moreIncredible! Honestly, I don't think there's another way of describing the food and service that we received at this restaurant. We'd only tried Korean cuisine once before and the restaurant we picked was terrible so we were a little nervous trying again. The Hallasan restuarant was just amazing. A friendly welcome when we walked into the restaurant was so nice, and we were shown to our table. As we hadn't really tried much Korean food we asked what they'd recommend, and they guided us through what type of things to pick and explained the choices available. We picked a combination of pork and beef from the large selection they have - various pricepoints available. They brought the meat and the amazing selection of sidedishes to the table and the really friendly server cooked everything for us and made suggestions on what sidedishes to taste with the meat. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the sidedishes, sauces, and extras were incredible. I don't think that I can recommend this restaurant enough and just want to encourage people to go there for an amazing food experience. Now we're trying to find an excuse to go back for another meal as soon as possible. Believe me, it's really so good and you...
Read moreThey allow a dog in so that’s a good point for me. Food was DELICIOUS and the chef/waitress will grill the meat for you right on the table. It’s pricey but definitely worths it, you cannot be disappointed here.
Also, you are required to order at least 2 dishes of meat, but it’s really good. For beef, price ranges from 52-60€ and for pork is ≈35€. There are lots of side dish that comes with the meat. We came by 4 and we ordered 2 dishes of beef (55€ & ≈58€), 4 rice bowls (4x 4€) and 1 large soup (≈36€) to share with some desserts (≈13€).
Allergy instructions are numbered with more info at the last page of menu, and they’re noted as numbers next to the dishes. People speaks Korean and Italian mostly with little English so if you’re a tourist, learning these languages is greatly recommended (and if you review then you get Chupa Chups too :3 I know it looks like they bribed me but this place is really good).
If you have money or want an occasional treat, this is the right place to come to. The interior is exquisite and the chair is technically a storage box so you can open and store...
