OMG if you’re visiting Florence and are in desperate need of pizza and pasta in the same place (which is hard to come by in Italy because you know.... Italian Ethics šŸ™„!)... you have got to try this place because it serves both you and your dinner companions all at the same time hahaha 🤣!!! And let’s face it we all need pizza and pasta simultaneously in our lives 😁

It’s right by the train station but far enough so it’s not with the rig raf, so great for a lunch and dinner too as we did. I am particularly a fan of pasta and my husband a pizza fan, - we took a grand wiff passing by and we’re so hooked that we stayed for both lunch and dinner (with copious delicious wine and desert in between).

So specifically now to get to the actual review part of this review...

The Pizza: well I have a distinct problem with pizza in general... firstly that I never eat the crust and secondly that can never finish eat the whole lot because I eat so slow and by then the base is soggy so I never get round to it..... but for the first time ever ever ever in my life I finished the whole damn thing, crust and alll.... (the wine may have helped with that but I’ll get on to that later...) the pizza was amazing.. I had some for lunch and for dinner...so if you like pizza and have a soft spot for salsiccia, (and hot stuff), I highly highly commend setting your taste buds alight and ordering this bombshell!! See pics now if you just can’t wait to see this amazing pizza...

The Pasta: it is my favourite and I had the Tortellini with the Ragu (meaty sauce) ... and all I can say is even if you don’t like pasta you will convert if you eat this... it’s like how vegetarians get converted after that accidental taste of bacon šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ˜šŸ¤£

The Dessert: as long as I can remember I have loved the Tiramisu. Even before i knew it was an Italian dessert it was my favourite dessert and low behold it still is... now ice cream aside thisssss is hands down the most creamiest and booziest damn Tiramisu you will have in your life... the died and gone to heaven kind... go on and have some... and be in heaven for a while.

The Wine: Okay where do I start... my husband’s family have a vineyard so it’s not a small thing to say we know a little something about wine.. and also we did a hell of a lot of wine tasting around the Tuscan hills while we were here tooo. ... to top it off we savoured a lot of different wines here thanks to our lunch and dinner waiters who were very enthusiastic to treat us to try their recommendations... thanks Pedro and Lisien.

The Service: well I’d say if you were a very loved kid at home you still didn’t get treated better than this. This service was really good. The owner Dario Carboni, was so down to earth and welcoming. We actually didn’t realise he owned the place until we got talking to him. That’s a humble man with a love for foood and what he does, he was cooking, serving, greeting and enjoying... rightly so. Excellent service!

The Atmosphere: well when there’s great music, lighting, wine, and good people surrounding you it’s always great! The cooking area is totallly open so it’s quite entertaining seeing it all made and also the steam and sounds of the kitchen is very theatrical.

The Decoration and Graphical representation: well here’s the part where I am very critical because as an artist and architect I will always be. The over-all theme is generally the outdoor garden and rustic romantic theme, mixed with hints of the Tuscan hills... you know - brick walls, hanging flowers, bare industrial lighting... Wine bottles and crates and chandelier and hanging lights - lovely jubblie so it’s a nice atmosphere and goes well with the decor.

Suggestions: my only criticism would be that they ort to bring the theme completely inside and through. Get in touch guys - it’s my profession and passion and I would be happy to make some free suggestions.

Last thought: From the outside and the from the main signage one might think this is a fast food joint but it’s far from it. Best way to spend the last afternoon/evening...

People have different experiences with restaurants, but to my partner and I, this was by far the best restaurant we tried in Florence. We liked it so much we came back a second time!

The pasta dishes are very good - the cacio e pepe was very rich but not in a bad way - just loaded with good quality cheese.

I also had the grilled steak with shaved parmesan and arugula. It was delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and the flavours were fresh and blended together so nicely. I could only imagine the more expensive steak Florentine would be even better.

The star of the show to me was the pizza. The sauce and cheese and toppings were on point. But he crust was the best - it was literally cooked PERFECTLY and had the most satisfyingly light crispy texture. Highly recommended.

The prices are reasonable and the waitstaff are very friendly.

I just don't have a bad word to say about this place and highly recommend it.

If I have a critique it's not so much about the restaurant itself but the location - they've clearly tried their best to make it a really comfortable atmosphere outside, but there is quite a bit of street noise that detracts from that a bit.

When I told our waiter at the end our 2nd visit how good I thought the food was, he said "if we start serving bad food, we close." I think...

Amazing food and wine!! First meal in Florence and what a way to kick start this holiday, I took the recommendations of the friendly staff ( being a chef I always ask for recommendations) I had the burrata to start with pear, orange and honey, I could have eaten this ten times over, was so fresh and just delicious, for mains i Had the steak with porcini mushrooms which I’m not going to try and remember how to pronounce, and a bottle of chianti being in the region it felt wrong not to, 10/10 from start to finish would highly recommend this place, i was lucky to get a table outside so would advise booking, thanks to all the team, sorry there’s not a picture of the burrata it was that good! Did I also mention you get a nice warm bowl of focacciato accompany your meal! Amazing
