Il Gioiello — Restaurant in Florence

When you eat pizza here it is to taste the achievement of greatness. The place is like a diner, the wine and beer is simple, service straightforward, tv running in the background, but the pizza here stands out and is the best I’ve tasted in Firenze, and perhaps in the whole of Italy, for now. I am not kidding. The ‘Madrilena’ will make you fall in love with Gorgonzola on a pizza, and the crispy thin pizza crusts with a perfect wet tomato sauce will give you a standard not to forget whenever you eat pizzas from now on and forward. Other pizzas to recommend are ‘Mimy’, ‘Siciliane’, ‘Gioiello’ but I have not been disappointed yet. Il cibo non è malaccio e l'ambiente nella norma, ma sono scandalosi lascio giudicare a voi: vado a pagare con i buoni pasto e non mi fanno lo scontrino inventando motivi che non stanno nè in cielo nè in terra.
