Dining at Mozza & Bollicine was an unforgettable highlight of our trip to Florence. From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the atmosphere—a perfect blend of warmth, elegance, and authentic Florentine charm. The ambiance struck a balance between cozy intimacy and vibrant energy, making it the kind of place where every detail feels curated yet natural. We began our meal with fresh tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella, and I must say—it was a masterclass in simplicity. The freshness of the ingredients was remarkable, and the balance of flavors reminded us why Italian cuisine is celebrated around the world. Next came the pappardelle with meat sauce (three varieties of meat: pork, veal and cinghiale (boar), prepared without tomatoes. This was a first for both my wife and me, and what an incredible revelation it was! The richness and depth of flavor in the sauce, paired with the perfectly tender pasta, made it one of the most memorable pasta dishes we’ve ever tasted. In fact, we loved it so much that we promised each other to try recreating it once we returned home to the U.S. Of course, no trip to Florence would be complete without experiencing the legendary bistecca alla Fiorentina (Florentine steak)—and Mozza & Bollicine delivered perfection. Our steak was cooked with expert precision, seared beautifully on the outside while remaining tender and melt-in-your-mouth delicious inside. Every bite was extraordinary. What elevated the entire experience even further was our host and owner, Salvatore. His passion for food and hospitality shone through with every course. He personally explained each dish as it came out of the “magical kitchen,” sharing the inspiration behind the flavors and preparations. That personal touch made us feel less like diners and more like cherished guests in his home. In a city filled with incredible dining options, Mozza & Bollicine stands out not just for its food, but for the complete experience it offers: atmosphere, flavors, hospitality, and soul. If you are in Florence, this is...
Read moreIt is complicated to write short review about that outstanding restaurant, but I try my best! We have been here two times.
On the first day of our stay in Florence we were looking for having a great family dinner, and due to long research we found this restaurant! Before write down the actual review I really need to point out that we were 5 adults and 4 children under age of 7 years old.
First of all, the atmosphere was at home. Very cozy, very hospitable and friendly people are working here. The owner and the chef of the restaurant, Mr. Salvatore, is very open-minded and professional man. The way how he host people is simply the HIGHEST STANDARD! Carefully, no pressure, he listens very well your requests. And this treatment was not only for our. All guests are treated as their regular customers.
Secondly, the food is very fresh and tasty. I highly recommend grilled vegetables, local focaccia, buffalo mozzarella and, finally, Fiorentina steak - it is just perfect meat! Juicy, soft and, I repeat, fresh.
Finally, the price corresponds to the quality. The meals are not expensive. You can easily eat and drink a glass of good wine (hint: take just glass of Chianti 2022 or 2023 if you don’t want to spend time on this point) and pay around 30-40 euros per person.
So, I am not that person who writes many reviews but I can’t be calm after the experience that my family and I had in this restaurant!
Regarding the availability, if you are more than 4 people, I advise you to call and book, or text by WhatsApp. The phone that it is available in Google maps is attached to WhatsApp as well.
Thank you very much Salvatore and Louis, and all other team members who offered us that unforgettable...
Read moreWonderful little find in Florence After taking in the lovely sunset at the famous vantage point of Piazzale Michelangelo our hungry group of six stumbled across a rather unassuming little restaurant along Lungarno Benvenuto Cellini facing the Arno River named MOZZA & Bollicine. In our quest to avoid touristy restaurants we were warmly greeted by the owner Salvatore. From the moment we stepped into this GEM of a restaurant nothing was too much trouble for Salvatore. The food was exceptional with a definite thumbs up from each member of our group. Salvatore also offers a wide range of wines (another of his specialities) and was very happy to provide glasses of various wonderful examples of the region aimed to meet our palate. We were also showered with a range of little special compliments along the journey. Not only were the homemade desserts to die for but his special biscotti was a definite winner among us all. Then up another notch we were introduced to new experience of dipping the cantucci into Santo Spirito 11, something we would have never considered. Such a fantastic meal and experience was had by all, totally satisfying the hungry group on so many levels. This of course led to the unanimous vote to return for a second night. Unbelievably Salvatore even outperformed the previous night with some extra special homemade pasta dishes and unbelievable desserts. The dishes are too many to list, but my favourites were Pasta with Fresh Clams white wine chilli sauce and the incredible affogato semifreddo. Recommend this little restaurant to anyone visiting...
