The Lodge Club — Restaurant in Florence

Don’t really have many great things to say about this place. When we first walked in we were really excited about this place since we heard amazing things about the food and location, unfortunately we were very disappointed. Our table was ready for us when we walked in and had a great view, when we sat down we started getting immediately bitten up by the mosquitoes in a glorified bar area they call “The Jungle”. I noticed a red smear when I was unfolding my napkin, and then noticed it was on my dirty knife as well. This should’ve of been out last straw to leave, but still decided to stick it out. When we made the reservation we were not told about the limited options on the menu for that night, and when we asked, our waiter was not helpful in the slightest and pretended he did not understand us when we were asking him, though he had spoken perfect english not even 5 minutes before. We decided to stick it out and try it anyway because we were really excited about it, split two appetizers between the 6 of us. While we were waiting for them they brought us out bread (which was phenomenal) only for our waiter to intentionally bring us olive oil 5 minutes after we finished it. While we’re getting eaten alive by the bugs, our food showed up and the portion and presentation was thoroughly disappointing. We finished it and payed €66. For two appetizers, and a bottle of water, while getting eyed down by our server the entire time. Really hated that experience and definitely will not be recommending or going...

Last night, during my friend’s birthday celebration, I had a terrible experience at this place. Due to the waiter’s negligence with the sparklers, my hair caught fire and was seriously damaged — half of my hair burned off, and my scalp was at serious risk.

After the incident, I tried to speak with the staff, but both the waiter and another employee just laughed and said, “it happens, sorry.” When I told them they should be more careful, their answer was simply, “these things happen.” This kind of attitude is completely unacceptable for such a serious safety issue.

To make matters worse, they tried to apologize by offering a 20€ bottle of spumante, while the bottle served during the fire was worth 500€.

Additionally, the place was full of 14-15 year olds, some of whom confirmed their age — which raises serious legal and safety concerns.

I will never return and I strongly advise others to avoid this place. Safety, responsibility, and customer care are clearly not a priority here.

La scorsa sera, durante la festa di compleanno di un’amica, ho vissuto un’esperienza terribile in questo locale. A causa di una negligenza del cameriere con le fontane pirotecniche, i miei capelli hanno preso fuoco e sono stati gravemente danneggiati: metà dei miei capelli è andata persa e ho rischiato che anche il cuoio capelluto venisse bruciato.

Dopo l’incidente, ho cercato di parlare con i responsabili, ma sia il cameriere che un altro membro dello staff hanno minimizzato l’accaduto, sorridendo e dicendo semplicemente “succede, scusa”. Quando ho fatto notare che dovrebbero prestare più attenzione, la risposta è stata “sono cose che capitano”. Un atteggiamento assolutamente inaccettabile per un episodio così grave.

Come se non bastasse, hanno tentato di scusarsi offrendomi uno spumante da 20€, quando la bottiglia servita durante l’incidente costava 500€.

Inoltre, il locale era pieno di ragazzini di 14-15 anni, alcuni dei quali hanno confermato la loro età. Questo dimostra la totale mancanza di serietà e di responsabilità dell’intero staff.

I can neither rate the food nor the drinks because we were never asked if we wanted anything. So this review is solely about the service and the general atmosphere. We arrived around 10 PM on the recommendation of a waiter from a nice nearby restaurant and were mostly ignored by the staff for over 30 minutes. We asked several times for an additional wine menu, and although people promised to take care of us, nothing ever happened. I have rarely experienced such ignorant and impolite service.
