I wish I could give this stunning work of art 6 stars. If I would have had binoculars, an open field of vision and 6 days I would still he processing this phenomenonal structure oozing detailed history. I wish I had researched the large numbers of statues and scenes covering the massive structure. The entrance line was insane surpassing 2 hours for entry. None the less this structures size, details, and location all make it a can't...

Reference point for all the buses coming from excursions, walking to downtown is about 15 minutes, so take your precautions if you have walking difficulties, the roads are cobblestone so for wheelchairs will be though, but more for the people that is pushing them. If decided, you can take a taxi that can take you to a closer area, but be aware of traffic and that there are several streets closed for vehicles for...

One of Florence's historical monuments, built in the 1320s, playing an important defensive role. It's the easternmost tower of the 2nd circle of municipal walls, with a privileged view to protect the Arno.

This was both a medieval defensive tower and part of Florence’s former mint complex. Built in the early 14th century in a transitional Gothic–Romanesque style, it guarded the eastern end of the city’s old walls. The name Zecca means 'mint' in Italian, referring to the nearby Zecca Fiorentina, where the city’s famous gold coin, the fiorino d’oro, was produced.
