Let's start with the views. Perched on the renowned Piazzale Michelangelo, this restaurant offers an unparalleled panorama of Florence. As you gaze out over the city's iconic skyline, including the stunning Duomo and the winding Arno River, you can't help but feel a sense of awe.
Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at Piazzale Michelangelo is a delightful mix of traditional Tuscan cuisine and innovative flavors. Our meal began with the beef tartare, a dish that was both visually stunning and incredibly flavorful. The balance of textures and the quality of the meat were simply outstanding.
Next up, we indulged in the scallops. Cooked to perfection, they were tender and succulent, paired with a delicate sauce that enhanced their natural sweetness. Each bite was a taste of pure bliss.
But the true showstopper was the pork cheeks. Slow-cooked to perfection, they practically melted in our mouths. The dish was a beautiful blend of rich flavors, with the meat perfectly complemented by a savory sauce and accompanied by a side of creamy polenta. It was a dish that truly left a lasting impression.
To top off our meal, we were treated to impeccable service. The staff at Piazzale Michelangelo went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was exceptional. Their knowledge of the menu and their attentive nature added an extra touch of warmth to our evening.
In conclusion, if you find yourself in Florence, a visit to Restaurant Piazzale Michelangelo is an absolute must. Read moreLa Loggia not only had the most amazing views but the food was INCREDIBLE. To start I had the cheese tasting board and my favourite cheese was the Gorgonzola, they also had the most delicious honey to accompany all the cheeses. My friend had the Zuchinni Flan (which was more of a soufflé in my opinion) and it was so soft and full of flavour whilst drowning in a delicious cheese sauce. My other friend had the Beef Tartare which again was just insane 😍 The portions were such a good size for starters as well we really weren’t ready for the mains.
For mains we had: 🧀 Cacio è Pepe - Cheese and Truffle pasta which was lovely. The truffle wasn’t overpowering at all and the cheese sauce balanced perfectly. 🐄 My partner went for the Beef meatballs and Pasta and said that the meatballs were really delicious but unfortunately the sauce was just very bland in comparison. It was still nice but he was expecting a little more flavour in the sauce. 🦞 My one friend had pomodoro spaghetti with half lobster. I have never tried lobster before but I am so glad I tried this, the taste was amazing. The meat was so tender and just 😍😍
For desserts my friends and boyfriend went for a classic Tiramisu. Which was so creamy and not overpowering with the liqueur like most tiramisus can be. I went for a Chocolate Caprese Cake for my dessert which I was a little underwhelming. It was almost like eating a cereal/protein bar if I’m totally honest. The chocolate sauce on top was nice though! Would highly recommend La Loggia if you are visiting Florence but best to...
Read moreFood was good. Asked for medium rare steak but received medium and occasionally medium rare pieces on the outside, it was still nice and edible, food is good without question. 1 star rated however so that hopefully owners will open their eyes in the staff they are hiring. We walked in and just because we weren’t wearing tuxedos the waiters didn’t treat us well: they questioned if we were at the right place in a rude manner, they didn’t pour our drinks for us like they did for everyone else, gave us a bad table in the middle of the room even though many were open and place was not busy at all, they neglected our table and never came to check up on us once (only to take the plates away, whereas they kept checking on everyone else), and the staff just had grumpy faces when serving us. There was 1 nice lady that served us but other than that it was disappointing. The waiters think they are something they are not, I can’t imagine them earning a high wage at all to act so full of themselves as what I witnessed today. The staff also thought less of us because we couldn’t speak Italian. This place wouldn’t have as good business if it wasn’t for the location, if the staff is trained properly in basic manners and treating others equally and not discriminating against certain customers, the restaurant has potential to be one of the top in Florence. However, discrimination against customers is totally unacceptable therefore the 1 star...
