Only reason for the 2 stars was for presentation, staff friendliness & the second pasta dish was good. HOWEVER.. the first pasta dish which I sent back was the carbonara which was honestly the worst pasta I've ever had in my life. (Besides the canned tomatoe soup pasta in Costa Rica 😅) This is supposed to be an authentic Italian carbonara from the heart of Florence... which was actually box pasta with completely uncooked bacon chunks (super dangerous..You can give someone food poisoning for this! ) with CREAM and No eggs 🤦🏼‍♀️ it was awful.. you can literally Google any image of carbonara and you will see it doesn't look like that, how could they not know this.. do they have an East Indian cooking? .. but they happily took it back with no questions and offered something else, then the 2nd pasta which was ravioli I could tell they quickly hand made it from scratch when I ordered it , which is great! It was Burrata with tomatoes and basil filled and was actually good. The whole .. American country music thing...why? To subliminally lour in westerners lol? And the place is run by Albanians and not Italians which adds even more confusion. Better off playing Albanian music and tourists probably wouldn't notice the difference to Italian anyway lol. My fault for not reading the reviews before walking in but I was hungry and it looked good with a cute patio, but I did notice after that the inside was empty.. and on a Friday night too. NOTE: The tap water they charge you for is actually treated and added minerals with a machine so I can understand the charge there. You want this over regular tap water! I'm happy to pay that. + Good they do this to reduce the single use plastic/glass bottles.

Sure! Here's your review for Restaurant Ginori: Restaurant Ginori – Classic Italian Charm with a Side of Surprise Tucked away in a charming corner, Restaurant Ginori is a beautiful classic Italian spot that effortlessly blends timeless elegance with warm hospitality. With both indoor and outdoor seating, it's the perfect place to soak up the Italian atmosphere – whether you're after a romantic dinner or a leisurely lunch. Service? Spot on. The staff are attentive, welcoming, and know their wines – speaking of which, the wine list is fantastico. Pair your meal with a local red and you’re in heaven. The food is everything you’d hope for – fresh, rich in flavor, and authentically Italian. From homemade pasta to hearty mains, everything hits the mark. Just one word of advice: if you’re eyeing the Bistecca alla Fiorentina, be sure to ask for the weight (and the price) upfront. It’s mouthwatering, but can leave your wallet a little dazed and confused if you're not prepared. All in all, a fantastic experience – just go in hungry and informed! Cheers .

My husband and I spent a month in Florence for our honeymoon & this was by far our favorite spot! We ate here at least 7-8 times during our stay. All of the servers were so friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. We tried the lasagna, fettuccine bolognese, Pici salsiccia e Tartufo, and of course the Bistecca alla Fiorentina. Out of this world!!!! I was honestly shocked to see the bad reviews after the exceptional experience we had here. I think it’s important to note that in the US we are accustomed to waitstaff checking in frequently during your dining experience. However that is not customary in Italian culture. It is very easy to get the staffs attention as they’re standing in and outside the restaurant ready to wait on you if you need them, without making you feel rushed to leave. I encourage anyone visiting Florence to stop by this restaurant! We will definitely be back.

Horrible experience - a tourist trap to avoid!

They are clearly trying to create a "typical italian experience", with red-and-white checkered tablecloths, "italian" decoration and background music (Dean Martin evergreens and such), but no love at all invested in the core: the food and the service.

Staff appeared unmotivated and un-helpful, and the food was the worst we had in Florence over five days.

What was supposed to be a Risotto was essentially a portion of bland rice, with some sauce slathered on it. Taste and texture horrible - and the look as well. No attempt at decoration at all - just a blob of something on a plate.

The promised "home-made" Gnocchi looked suspiciously like the pre-fabricated, pre-formed stuff from supermarkets, and they were tough and rubbery. And also, no decoration at all, just a mass on a plate

The Caesar Salad was very dry - hardly any caesar dressing used. At the bottom of the bowl, a handful of green olives (hard) - these don't belong in a Caesar Salad - and if you use olives in a salad, they should be on top, not hidden underneath.

The "sparkling" water was tap water run through a Sodastream - in the original Sodastream bottle. I wouldn't mind that if it was free, but they charge for this!

Overall, the worst experience in our time in Florence - and one of the worst Italian dining experiences we ever had.

We strongly recommend to...

This lunch place was actually recommended by our tour guide as she ate here herself. But be warned if you try to order things based on weight. My husband said that Florence is renowned for their T bone steak so we ordered some. They said minimum order was 700g. We said we can’t really eat that much so agreed with them to give us the “smallest portion possible, ideally close to 600g”. When the food arrived it looked pretty good though the beef was quite raw and very chewy. When the bill arrived… they charged us a whopping 1400g worth of beef!!! How terrible!! That is such a scam. How can an experienced restaurant got it so wrong and then feel okay to charge their customers? Second issue - we ordered 1x sparkling water. They took two to our table and without asking if we wanted two. Opened both and left on our table. We managed to change one bottle to non-sparkling but again these people seem to treat their customers like idiots who should just spend as much money as they feel like charging you. All in all food isn’t amazing, passable but I would hope the tour guide would not recommend this place to clients without being clear about what...
