We came at 6:15 as a big group (14). We wanted to sit outside but They recommended to seat us upstairs in the Air Conditioned area but that will start at 7:00 and we will be the first guests. They sat us upstairs. No Air Condition, no window and not even a fan! In July! We complained but they said that this is the only place there have, while there were other rooms upstairs where it was much cooler because there were air condition units in them We asked for more bread, and it never came! We ordered seafood plater and the waiter told us to pick pasta and she recommended one type of it. The food came and was mixed up between the tables and guess what, no seafood. And when asking the waiter she said that’s the pasta we ordered! Imagine sitting in a place sweating while trying to eat what I didn’t order. So we asked for the manager who came and still tried to argue that this is “what we ordered”. Then the manager said “it’s ok we’ll remake. There finally change it but of course we had to wait 20 more minutes while everyone else was already done. While paying downstairs the manager apologized and claimed that they did not have any place for us downstairs but we were the FIRST guests and when we brought in the fact that there 2 other rooms upstairs that are cooler because they have air condition she said calmly “oh yeah sorry, I guess we could’ve...
Read moreThis is only a review of the service, not of the food (as I did not get as far as getting to order a meal). I had short, but not very sweet, visit to this restaurant. I asked for a table for one, and I was just told "Inside!". The majority of the tables were free and I couldn't see any indications of them being reserved. I understand that they might earn more from two people or larger groups than just a single person, though I did doubt that every single table would've filled up during the duration of my stay. I did think that there could be a language barrier here as well, though I had asked for the table in Italian (although it's just basic), so I felt that I had done what I could with the level of Italian that I have to endeavour to bridge that gap.
So, I went inside as instructed. It was more like a shop than a restaurant inside, which wasn't the most pleasant atmosphere to have a meal in. The only table there were high tables with stools. I waited there for a good 10 mins and could see that the waitress who had ordered me to go inside had her free moments every now and then, so that she could've come inside to give me a menu. However, she didn't come. So, in the end I left the place and found a different...
Read moreThe person at the front of the restaurant (not pizzeria) was horrible and rude. If we hadn’t missed lunch and were running somewhere else, we would not have stayed. She told me sharply to wait by the stairs when there was no one in front of her and there weren’t many diners. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe her English wasn’t good and it’s not intentional that she was coming across rude. A mistake on my part. They served us crusty old bread that I could hardly bite, and a terrible Caesar salad. Things are definitely priced higher here too than what you can find elsewhere for better in Florence. I ordered an Aperol spritz and it nearly didn’t come. I asked for anchovies that never came. When I asked her for the bill, she pretended not to hear me and then pointed go to the checkout and said in a rude way to go over there when I asked again. She told me the price without giving me a receipt and I had to ask for the receipt which she didn’t like. But I wanted to make sure that the anchovies wasn’t included since it never came. It was a mistake to come here as I’ve loved Eataly in USA and Canada and felt it would be a trustworthy experience that I could share with my...
