Seating Issues Found enough positive reviews for this place online so decided to go here. Got there just as a downpour started. Thought, "this is great, we can wait out the rain while we have lunch for 6". Walked into the restaurant and the server welcomed us but kept walking to the back. She stopped, said something to the manager who turned around and said "We have a problem with the kitchen we can't serve you." There were several tables open and the rest of the tables had guests in various stages of eating. "OK, thanks," I said and headed out into the rain where we had to duck under a cover for 15 minutes to let the rain go by. As we waited in the rain, we watched as several other guests showed up, got tables, and existing customers got served.
Sorry, but if you are going refuse to accept my business, at least make it good like "We are closing early instead of in 75 minutes" (which was the case based on the hours on the door) or "Sorry, we have no tables left as we are filling reservations for 1pm and 1:15pm". I would understand that, but don't lie and say you can't serve me while you serve others.
Update Based on your response below, clearly we were in the same downpour. I will modify this review slightly. I'm sorry your system didn't work but it seems rather strange that the server didn't seem to know this and others behind us got served. Had you stated that the downpour was affecting your kitchen equipment and you weren't sure when it would come on line again or you could only do reduced capacity, I would have understood. However, given you have called me a liar, I now call the veracity of your statements into question. To put it into perspective, when I spoke to the manager, I was about 2 meters from the kitchen entrance and the manager was leaning on what appeared to be the bar speaking with another man when the server came over. The time was about 1357hrs on Tuesday, 25 June. There were two tables for four still open, the rest having customers, the street table area was closed and chairs on top of the tables. Is that enough to show I was there? Good luck with the business, I wish...
Read moreGreat place to dine, after a long day out in town. Not fancy, but nice and cosy and family like. Totally recommend it. The menu has a large enough variety, and looking into other people’s plates, all looked absolutely yummy. I had the sea food risotto, delicious and full of seafood, over my expectations. Made me so happy. And a proper Tiramisu, a generous portion, too. The pizza my friends ordered was delicious and a proper size, one you could actually finish. The mushroom crostoni also great, as well as the cold cuts platter. Wine was good, we didnt actually choose something, we accepted the hosts recommendation and it turned out great. The lady who seemed to be the owner was so lovely and took really good care of us. They had a waiter with a sense of humour and some upselling skills, so we were never bored 😄 I totally recommend to try the food there. The prices are decent, too. A pizza costed 10 eur and the seafood...
Read moreAt lunch time this place was packed full of Italians as far as I could tell. A few of them were clearly very well known by the staff. I would guess that this is where a lot of local folk go for good affordable lunch in a good atmosphere. The pappardelle with boar sauce was very good while the salad was average at best. The house white was too sweet for me but fortunately seemed to work with the boar sauce. The waiter forgot to bring the wine till I walked the length of the restaurant to remind him which did not seem to phase him at all. But the price was really good and I cannot blame them if they really did not want such obvious tourists in their cozy place. The only reason I give four stars instead of three is because the locals seemed very happy with it and I suspect our experience was not typical. Also the price...
