Never go if you consider visiting because you want to eat steak

I strongly advise against visiting this restaurant if your main intention is to enjoy a steak. My experience there left me furious due to the extremely disappointing quality of the food and the staff's attitude. A few years ago, I had heard about this place from a famous Korean food YouTuber and was excited to try it out. We made a reservation well in advance for the evening opening and arrived on time. However, the waiter made us wait without acknowledging us and eventually showed us to our seats (we were probably the fourth customers to arrive).

I decided to order the bisteca alla fiorentina, requesting it to be cooked rare (priced at 6 euros per 100 grams). The waiter informed me that it would take about 25 minutes for the food to be prepared and served. However, even after an hour of waiting, the food hadn't arrived. Frustrated, I approached the waiter to inquire about the delay, and suddenly, the food was brought to our table in less than five minutes. To my disappointment, the meat was not cooked rare but rather medium (as you may know, bisteca alla fiorentina is best enjoyed when it's rare, as it tends to be tough when cooked more). I even overheard someone at the next table complaining about the grilling and texture of their meat.

We immediately notified the waiter about the cooking mistake, but he blamed us and insisted that it was rare. To prove my point, I showed him a picture from a Google review, which depicted the desired rare level. Trattoria L'Oriuolo delivered one of the best Tuscan dining experiences I’ve ever had, an experience shared by my party of five.

I personally shared the 1.7 kg Florentine steak with a friend, and it was absolutely outstanding. Seared to perfection, the steak was beautifully charred on the outside with a melt-in-your-mouth, medium-rare center. It was so tender and flavorful, simply seasoned to let the high-quality meat shine. Sharing it was ideal, as the portion was more than generous. I also got the side of roasted potatoes, and despite having other roasted potatoes over the last few days this was the best rendition of the dish.

We also ordered their roasted chicken, which was juicy with a perfectly crisp skin, seasoned with just the right balance of herbs. The grilled vegetables—squash, eggplant, tomatoes, red pepper—were an ideal complement, smoky and flavorful with a slight char that brought out their natural sweetness.

Another standout was the pumpkin pasta, which was truly a taste of autumn. The velvety, creamy pumpkin sauce was rich and comforting, with a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors. It was a delightful contrast to the heartier dishes.
