Ristorante Natalino — Restaurant in Florence

I would have given them four stars had it not been that one of the plates was chicken and was raw inside and the attitude of the staff. We asked the waiter after 20 minutes and it was almost as if it were our fault because “they had to start from scratch due to covid regulations”. The rest of the table was eating of course and we ended up sharing food as it happened to be for my youngest and by the time his food came about we were all done eating. The bill didn’t change despite the inconvenience which is something unexpected although being a tourist restaurant it doesn’t matter I guess. As for the food we had a lovely papa col pomodoro, which I recommend, there’s also a tagliata with balsamic sauce that was better off without the sauce and is better in other restaurants in...

This was a Rick Steves recommendation, and I can understand why he was happy with their charms. I had a most excellent cold artichoke salad, but my bistecca alla fiorentina was a huge disappointment. a €72 thick-cut steak cooked rare is not a true bistecca alla fiorentina because it was not from a chianina cow, and that was evident from the taste, texture and tenderness.

I was surprised by how much salt I had to put on this thing before it brought out some flavor. Even the so-called filet part of the t-bone cut was tough and chewy.

Service was adequate, if presumptuous. I could definitely see enjoying other things here and the ambience, but I'd stay away...

This restaurant was recommended to us by our AirBnb host and it was the perfect first dinner in Florence. We managed to get a table without a reservation since we got there just as they opened but the staff were so lovely and accommodating they sat us right away! Definitely recommend booking or getting there early because the place fills up pretty fast. Had the florentine steak for 2 which is an absolute must and definitely worth every penny. The waiters wine recommendations were so delicious and paired perfectly with the steak. I sadly didn't get the name of the wine he recommended but it had a silver mirror like bottle with a bright red top, highly regret not getting the whole bottle!
