the perfect blend of polished and elevated dining, together with nostalgic family dinner. It’s what I imagine it would be like to be married to a professional chef, where every meal is a mixture of art and love. This might be my favourite restaurant of all time, all places.
Photos on Google looked ok, but what drew us in was the simple and focused menu: 4 each of appetizers, primi and secondi, each with simple descriptions. The menu is mostly sea protein and highlighting Ligurian flavours. The dishes came out carefully plated, with the simplicity emphasizing what was on the plate.
All the proteins were cooked very nicely. All the vegetables were fragrant and fresh tasting.
I don’t want to pick highlights here because, without exaggeration, everything was special. If I was to return, I would definitely reorder the taglierini con verdure e noci, super simple pasta with some veg and a walnut sauce, and the zuppeta di pesce nostrano, a plateful of mussels, fish, shrimp and scampi, all perfectly cooked, served in a thick, hearty, viscous tomato broth.
The restaurant itself is located in the old town, near a lot of the drinking spots, in what looks like a space that maybe used to be a house, with tables spread across lots of private / semi-private nooks and crannies. The owner was also our host and waiter. He was charming, with good conversation, and readily explained the menu and talked about Ligurian wine and food specialties.

Cucina genovese leggermente rivista ...
