Just ordinary food. Conversely to what some reviews mentioned, the only nice part was the starter. The main course was just ordinary. We had the trofie al pesto and pansoti alle noci. The former sauce was a bit acid, won't say gone off, but almost there whereas the noci sauce was just cream with a bit of walnuts on top. The environment is nice and service ok. It's a shame because it could be improved with very little.

Abbiamo scelto questo locale attratti dalle recensioni positive e per la vicinanza al Teatro Politeama Genovese. Il ristorante è non troppo grande e si trova sotto strada. L'interno ha le caratteristiche di un'osteria e l'atmosfera che si respira è molto gradevole. Abbiamo optato per una teglia di focaccia genovese "Vapensiero" con pomodoro, pesto e crescenza. La sfoglia era sottilissima e il gusto era fantastico. Inoltre abbiamo preso un tentacolo di polpo impanato nel pistacchio con burrata che abbiamo trovato squisito, la cottura era perfetta e tutti i gusti creavano un'ottima armonia di gusto. Il prezzo pagato alla fine rispettava quanto dichiarato nel menu, tutto sommato una cifra onesta considerato il posto centrale e la qualità del cibo. Locale molto accogliente e curato, con un servizio rapido, efficiente e sempre attento a ogni esigenza della clientela. Gli antipasti sono di ottima qualità, così come i primi e i secondi piatti. Particolarmente degna di nota è la focaccia al formaggio, squisita e davvero all’altezza della celebre focaccia di Recco. Abbiamo avuto il piacere di tornare e confermiamo la nostra precedente recensione: la focaccia è ancor più gustosa di prima. Quando desidero una focaccia al formaggio, lascio Portofino volentieri per recarmi qui. Prezzi adeguati alla qualità offerta, con un eccellente rapporto qualità-prezzo. Un plauso speciale va al titolare e alla sua famiglia, che si distinguono per cortesia, professionalità e per aver creato un ambiente davvero piacevole in ogni aspetto.

50 euros for one focaccia is a total rip off. It was pushed on us as tourists without knowing the price. Please be warned. The rest of the food was nice and the waiter was charming, a shame they felt they had to stiff us. Annoying and leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Look at my other reviews I very rarely leave a 1 star review!

Response to owners response: Your implication that I am just a drunk who cannot be trusted is just rude, honestly! I actually only had one beer, I can't speak for the rest of the table but regardless it wouldn't matter if I'd drunk 1000 beers how can a 30cm pizza cost €10-14 and a 40cm pizza bread (focaccia) cost €50. Five times more! When you can put your hand on your heart and tell me that is good value I will...

This restaurant is a great find. Packed full of locals - an indicator of just how good it is. €50 to dine for 2 for 3 courses and wine and espressos. Formaggio focaccia is a must, we also tried pizza and pasta options which were delicious. Many options vegetarian friendly! Tiramisu House wine is excellent value and tasty. don't waste your money and time. reheated meat stew could pass but reheated baked patato NO NO, flavor is just OK, to much black paper for my taste.
