One of the oldest greek restaurant in Lecce and it stands for one of the best probably. Discovered with some friends (living in Dublin, I don't go in many places when coming back to my city). The food is delicious and the staff very welcoming, polite and ready to answer questions and suggest you what are the best dishes, according to your taste. Agnello al vino (lamb with wine) was looking superb even before tasting. The chips in the suvlaki are not simple fries but potatoes cut as in the original recipes. Original is also the Mythos beer.
And (dulcis in fundo) the dessert was.prepared with very good quality ingredients. You must try the Ouzo (I did not but my friend had to go for the 2nd glass..)
Location is well set even if there is a busy road nearby (separator and trees reduces discomfort however and music is diffused: also in that case, staff poliyelybask if the volume was so to us)
Grazie Andrea, the owner, truly a free and intelligent entrepreneur. Ad maiora (oops...that's Latin...
Read moreThe food was just average, could've been a little more tasty (salt e spices were almost missing). The first waiter was kind but not didn't really know the menu. The second waitress asked for our drinks, we asked for 1 Mythos beer and 1 Alfa beer, but she brought 2 Mythos instead... But the worst happened at the cashier. 12,00 euros for 2 pitas: this was unacceptable because no prices were mentioned on the menu for pitas (who knows why?) and on their website the pitas were 4 euros. So I asked why and the cashier replied with a big laugh and said yes, but 4 euros for takeaway! I checked again the site and it was not specified anywhere... Also it makes no sense to ask for more money, since they already ask for a fixed fee of 2 euros for every seat at a table (as for "coperto" in Italian)!
In the end, 23 euros for 2 pitas and 2 beers, really too much... Very unpleasant experience overall because of...

We arrived at 7 o’clock without reservations in the place was almost empty so I had no problems getting in. Started off, looking through the menu and wanted to try the halloumi cheese. It was delivered rather quickly with the grill marks on it, but probably could’ve been cooked another minute, but it was still tasty. My wife ordered the gyro and I ordered the souvlaki. She loved hers and I thought my pork could have been seasoned, but it was quite bland. It also should’ve been served with pita bread and then I could’ve ordered a side of tzatziki. We ordered the kateifi for dessert and it was very tasty. When in Italy, try not...
