L'EK Bistrot — Restaurant in Lecco

The service feels a bit akward... We ordered two plates : the "lake version" of carbonaras which were awfully salty, we almost sent the plate back -then we ordered a filetto rossinni. It was a good plate but we did not smell the truffle that was supposed to be in the plate. As a result it seems really pricey to pay 35€ for such plate.

I would recommend to stay away from this adress: the menu is very expensive and the cuisine quite average (or mediocre forsome plates such as our carbonaras). In comparison with other restaurants in Lecco LEK is below average, I would rather go to Authentico (just next to it) or Casa Mauri ( a bit further in the town) which offered incredible cuisine for a better...

Saturday June 29. We waited for 1hour and 15 minutes to get the first dish of appetizers. Unbelievable. The waiters instead of apologizing, just gave insane explanations like : "oh, well the chef is on vacation, we have 6, 7 tables with different orders....so much work, you need to be patient (?) etc..." Seriously? 6, 7 tables with different orders? What does that mean? In NYC that would sound like a joke. We were shocked. After this long / insane wait, we were expecting to be treated at least with a glass of wine or a desert/ espresso. Nothing. Legendary Italian style. Too bad because the food in the end was...

Poiché il ristorante dove andiamo sempre con mia moglie a pranzo era chiuso, abbiamo deciso di provare questo locale, ma è stata davvero una pessima scelta. Ti spiego brevemente il perché. Abbiamo ordinato due secondi piatti, un calice di vino rosso e una bottiglia d’acqua. Ci sono arrivati due secondi, il vino rosso, l’acqua e – non so perché – anche delle patatine fritte.

I secondi erano piatti di carne: come posso spiegare… direi che il 55-60% era costituito da nervi e parti dure. Sulla quantità meglio non commentare: un vero disastro. Il vino, invece, considerando il prezzo, non era male; l’acqua è acqua, e le patatine (che non avevamo chiesto) alla fine sono state utili, perché almeno con quelle siamo riusciti a sfamarci un po’.

Ma il problema principale è arrivato dopo: quando la cameriera è venuta a ritirare i piatti e ci ha chiesto com’era andata, ho risposto sinceramente “molto male”. Poco dopo, mentre andavamo a pagare, la stessa cameriera, con tono allusivo, ci ha detto: “Ci dispiace, ma usiamo la stessa carne anche per gli altri piatti”, e senza dirci nulla ha deciso di non addebitare uno dei due secondi.

Me ne sono accorto solo più tardi, perché ero molto arrabbiato e volevo andarmene subito. Non è affatto un bel gesto: se me ne fossi accorto al momento, avrei sicuramente insistito per pagare il conto completo. Le persone vanno al ristorante per mangiare e pagano per questo. Il comportamento della cameriera, invece, voleva dire: “La carne era ottima, siete voi che non l’avete apprezzata e volete lo sconto. Va bene, vi tolgo un piatto così chiudiamo qui e andatevene.” Complimenti! Un atteggiamento del genere ha fatto dimenticare persino la scarsa qualità...
