L'Oste di Lucca — Restaurant in Lucca

The meal was somehow bland and extremely salty at the same time (we ordered two different meals tordelli and carbonara) and they both were too salty. Carbonara was made with pancetta instead of guanciale. We ate half of the meal. The service wasn't great as they forgot to bring us the wine we had ordered. We informed the service about that and they didn't even offered a commercial gesture at the end.

The spot is a tourist trap. I don't recommend going there if you're Italian and used to great Italian food. In fact, there were mostly tourists. We were seated outside and the tables were very close to each other so the ambiance isn't the best either. Overall i don't recommend.

Oh also, if they hear to speak another language they'll try to influence you into ordering a Spritz?? Idk what this is about but we heard the waiter suggest Spritz out of the blue to all the tourists tables around us (it worked they all accepted the...

Tried this place for dinner as it seemed like quite a decent quintessential Italian restaurant. How wrong we were.

I had honestly thought it was almost impossible for an Italian restaurant to mess up a pizza. Again, how wrong we were. I don't really know what I ate, but I can tell you it was not at all good.

I expect service charges especially in city tourist restaurant spots but this place really went above and beyond to exploit it's clientele with both it's prices and below acceptable food. Be warned.

Locale nel centro storico di Lucca , rinnomato per la buona qualità della carne . Incuriositi dalla nomea, lo abbiamo provato e per alcuni aspetti non ne siamo rimasti molto entusiasti. Servizio direi ottimo, dipendenti molto cortesi ed educati. Ampia scelta di menù, sia per quanto riguarda antipasti, primi e secondi , forse meno per le pizze . Se posso dare un consiglio , nel caso vogliate recarvi in questa piccola osteria , scegliete la carne , che sia tagliata o che sia fiorentina , di buona se non ottima qualità, morbida come il burro si scioglie in bocca . La nostra scelta è stata bruschetta di pomodoro , per quanto mi riguarda poco condita, 2 primi , primo dell'oste ( porro, salsiccia e tartufo ) gnocchi alla crema di gorgonzola e noci in canestrino di formaggio parmigiano, una tagliata da 400g . Il primo dell'oste insomma , la salsiccia abbinata al porro , copriva il sapore inconfondibile del tartufo , piatto nell'insieme abbondante ma molto pesante. Gnocco direi classico ,buono, ma già mangiato in altri ristoranti. La tagliata molto buona , tenera come il burro e saporita , non mi voglio immaginare come potrebbe essere la fiorentina ,minimo 1k 200g . Le mie 3 stelle vanno al locale e all'impossibilità di starvi all'interno senza farsi venire gli occhi rossi. Non so come non abbiano pensato a un ricircolo aspirante per la cucina a vista e aperta sulla sala. Il fumo della carne invade tutta la sala, con forte odore e nebbia da far pizzicare gli occhi . Se vi capita di trovare la sala piena e con molta carne sulla brace , stare all'interno e impossibile e impensabile. Vestiti completamente maleodoranti da fumo .
