Great little find! Went for dinner there on Tuesday 14/03/23 night. Around 19.30. Not too busy. Got a table for 3 without booking. But around 20.00 it’s full! It’s small with plenty of seating outside.
This restaurant looks shabby. Shabby chic. But don’t let that deter you. I think it’s part of its charm and intention. It’s dark and kind of funky with music memorabilia and all sort of flea market finds.
Customer service was on point. Not super friendly but it gets the job done. Food is where they excel! We had the steak, grilled vegetables, ‘alla gricia’ pasta, mushroom pasta. Panna cotta for dessert. So delicious!! Just don’t order tea or coffee. We have 5 teas - we were brought a tea chest where we selected our own teabags. Did look a bit old. But. That was not the shocking thing. It costs €4 per teabag! Lol. That was the most expensive tea by far. So far. (Another review will reveal the most expensive tea ever in a normal cafe on the street.)

Read moreThe restaurant is a nice an cosy place that resembles buchons in Lyon. There was a TV turned on in the basement, as there were children around that were supposed to be entertained. Unfortunately they did not turn it off after the kids left. I ordered the des arts menu for 28€. It is a rip off, as it consists of a glass of house wine, a tiny platter of cold cuts and cheese (2 slices of salami, 1 slice of fennel salami and one tiny piece of Gorgonzola?) and a small piece of bruschetta. The main dish is a sad piece of filet mignon, around 120g max., and three wedges of potatoe. The meat was medium rare and very tender but was not seard at all. It tasted mostly like rosemary. Overall the dishes were not particularly tasty and nowhere enough to fill an adult. Dessert was not included. Service was ok, but just the bare minimum. It is not worth it, maybe for an appetizer as they bring olives and snacks (very...
Read moreBest peposo my wife and I have ever had. Made with filet. We stop in for lunch every few days when we stay in Lucca and are now regulars. Paulo is a welcoming and attentive host, with AJ and Jessica looking after your needs as well. Location bonus is people watching while drinking and dining outside. Most everyone (and their dogs) in Lucca walks by this place as they reach the end of Via Fillungo. A trip to the bagno reveals a cool eclectic music and musician photo collection. House wine, lasagna, pici pasta and tordelli are all good. And it is the only place we have found that has gluten free chocolate lava cake for...
