Went here a couple weeks ago for lunch with my parents and family friends (all from the United States). Our waiter was awesome and the food was great. I had the wild boar dish. I am telling you that I tried a lot of Tiramisu for the 3 weeks we were in Italy and hands down without a doubt the #1 I ate, not only in Italy, but of my whole entire life. I asked who made this and the waiter brought out the sweet woman who made the desserts. I took my picture with her because she was very sweet. And can cook / bake. Great experience and welcoming. Word to Americans visiting Italy or the like, please order off the menu if you can't speak the language. Or use an interpretation app to help. In this case. This meal and staff were awesome and a memorable experience. I hate to see a bad review here because someone ordered a cheese and meat dish without even seeing if was on the menu which it probably was. Use the language apps to help. The staff would appreciate that as well. Anyways I am checking L'Oste di Lucca as the #1 Tiramisu in Italy!!!! Great place for...
Read moreFor the first time in my life I rank 1 star! I made a mistake of a tourist starting and fell into the trap of beautiful visibility and inviting smile of the hosts .. And here it ends! The service is blooming but the food is of the lowest standard! After a week in Italy I wanted to taste authentic Italian lasagna, and unfortunately I got a very basic lasagna with melted cheese in the microwave (from my experience at home). My wife ordered a tortellini, which was also heated in the microwave and it turned out after a few minutes that some of the noodles had hardened and could not be eaten! The owner of the place (apparently) who was nice made us a polenta plate with mushrooms and truffle oil and was proud that she made it special for us, but it's too bad it was a struggle Of Polenta (my wife immediately recognized that she had prepared such a house) the texture was my massage and the taste was not tasty at all. In summary the price is 48 euros! 15 euros paid for the polenta! There I will not return even in for monetary...
Read moreI am surprised by the large number of negative reviews. My experience was really very nice, although speedy, which is what I needed. The Ribolitta Toscana (vegetable) soup was hot, thick, flavorful and tasted very much homemade and delicious. The vegetables were a nice texture and tasted very fresh. My red wine was robust, with good flavor, and very large. The service was VERY fast as I was rushed in (but not out) and the food came immediately (but I didn’t order anything complicated, intentionally)— I had a limited time for lunch. It was clear tourism/turnover is prioritized — because our tour group made the place go from empty to full, so there may be truth to some of the reviews. However, we WERE in the center of historic Lucca, so I have no complaints. Additionally, I appreciated an accommodation that was made because I ordered water and received an impractically large (liter) glass bottle for one person. The server found an English-speaking manager who made the return/swap without issue. The bathroom...
