Ristorante Pizzeria K2 — Restaurant in Lucca

We ate at K2 when there was bad weather in Lucca. However we could not recognize a lot of the positive things that were mentioned in the other reviews. We did get the free Prosecco but after that we had to wait 1.5 hours for a first course meal. The restaurant was occupied by 10 tables with 5 staff walking around. We did not get a single look towards us and we felt ignored. We suspect we were only good for filling up the terrace to attract other people.

The food was fine, just not great. The portion of ravioli was too small, even for a first course meal let alone after having to wait 1.5 hour. Not the place to go for an especially good Italian meal. Finally we got a dirty look from a waitress when we had been respectfully waiting for a moment to ask for the bill but we seemed to be interrupt her chat...

Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience at K2 tonight. We waited almost two hours for our dinner after being seated, with no communication from staff about the delay. Although polite, the staff were inattentive and unresponsive to our requests. Even after asking twice, the only explanation offered was that it was a busy night—yet multiple tables seated after us were served first. When I requested reasonable compensation, the bill was reduced from €129 to €110 without discussion, which felt truly inadequate to the disruption to our evening and lack of hospitality.

This was the most disappointing dining experience we had in Lucca, and it was hard not to notice that service for local diners seemed to be prioritized over ours...

Unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience at K2 this evening. Despite a promising start with free prosecco and a fun atmosphere, the food and service wasn’t great at all. The main issue was raw chicken which we obviously sent back. When we tried to dispute the bill and a couple of dishes that we hadn’t received, we were told they had been received therefore we couldn’t have them removed from the bill. After further investigation and a somewhat mocking tone, the staff finally agreed to take the mushrooms off the bill as it turns out they had been on the plate with the raw chicken.
