La Cicciascheria — Restaurant in Lucca

This piazza was not for from our stay and looking at this eatery seemed good value for money. The first evening the staff were friendly and sevice was timely and food was great,€80 done. Next evening much the same,another €80. The following evening some different staff on and while we were quickly seated it took many attempts to get our order taken. There seemed to be more focus on rearranging tables and enticing people to sit than there was serving diners. It seemed only one person taking orders and she didnt look interested, never looked around at any tables requiring sevice. It was slow sevice and would have had more . €70 spent. Next evening and its easter sunday, we thought we give it another try maybe yesterday was a one of. We were seated, after about 5 min had to ask for a menu which we were given. Then we waited, again only one seemed to be taking orders and again looked disinterested never looking around at tables, after more than 15 mins no order taken we got up and left. La cicciascheria è un locale nel pieno centro di Lucca, precisamente in piazza anfiteatro. Classico locale acchiappa turisti, in cui la scena di portare a tavola la carne con una “spada” prevale sulla qualità e la bontà delle pietanze.

Arriviamo in un gruppo di amici (9 amici, tutti di Lucca) e nessuno è all’ingresso ad accoglierci… attendiamo alcuni minuti nel corridoio angusto all’ingresso. Finalmente ci accomodiamo. La Sala è ben arredata e Il tavolo ben apparecchiato anche se piuttosto semplice: tovaglietta di carta, bicchiere e calice per il vino, posate e 2 tovaglioli di carta.

Nessun cameriere nei primi 10/15 minuti viene ad accoglierci, spiegare il menù e poter ordinare almeno un po’ di acqua: dobbiamo chiamare noi e chiedere.

Il menù è troppo grande e vario, si va dalle sfiziosita frutta agli antipasti, primi secondi, brace, panini ecc… I prezzi sono molto alti, per non parlare della carta dei vini, veramente fuori prezzo per una città come Lucca.

Optiamo per prendere della carne servita a tavola con la spada , alcuni contorni e qualche tartare. I contorni sono insipidi, 5€ per mezza patata intera fatta al forno con qualche spezia. Alcune porzioni invece avevano due mezza patate: non si capisce il motivo. Ovviamente a me è toccata la mezza porzione.

2 commensali hanno preso La grigliata: sapeva di riscaldato, il pollo aveva un odore strano, carina l’idea di poterne chiedere altri giri senza pagare di più ma 30€ per quel piatto è veramente esagerato. Gli altri hanno per lo più optato per la picagna: una carne cotta alla brace che però risultava dura e fibrosa, il sapore non era granché. In diversi l’hanno lasciata. Il contorno, verdure (spinaci) saltate in padella erano di fatto solo lessate e prive di sapore.

Durante il servizio sono stati sbagliati anche i tempi: alcuni contorni sono arrivati con gli antipasti e all’arrivo della seconda portata erano ormai freddi.

Durante tutto il pasto i camerieri erano inesistenti: abbiamo chiesto altra acqua 3 volte prima di poterla avere.

Al conto abbiamo diviso per il numero di commensali, volevano pagare 2 quote ciascuno: abbiamo dovuto fare due transazioni a testa perché “la cassa ormai aveva diviso il conto”. È la prima volta che un ristoratore ci chiede di passare 9 volte la carta pagando un numero di transazioni inutilmente.

In definitiva pessimo: conto finale 37€ a testa per una cena con qualche pezzo di carne e acqua da bere oltre a mezza patata al forno. Non ci...

Long story short : staff had to make up for the shortcomings of the chef… We were intrigued by the deal ‘aperol + bruschetta €5’, turned out everyone got a free bruschetta so it wouldn’t have mattered, it was a good one tho. After that we decided we wanted some food. After waiting for about 50 min my dad asked if something was wrong with the food because it took so long. We got a glass of prosecco and some more bruschettas from the waitress, and it became clear that we would have to wait even longer. After another 20 min we finally received our food. Dry chicken, dry burgers (thank god we had ketchup and mayonnaise) and a sticky carbonara. Would not recommend going there, next time I would rather go to a nice terrace a little...
