Bar BIGSTORE De Milán — Restaurant in Milan

The bar had what my partner and I thought was a great atmosphere. It was quiet when we arrived and we decided to stay for another drink rather than leave after 1 out of courtesy. It got busier during the time we were there, with staff preparing the “tapa” and fruit for the evening. We had ordered 4x gin & tonic, a drink that is usually €4-5, and at most €8. When we asked for the bill it was €40 which was far higher than we expected, and encountered elsewhere in Milano. I’m not sure if this was “tourist tax”, but we felt like we had been taken advantage of, and cannot recommend it for anyone visiting Milano...

Il posto è di certo uno dei più belli della zona e, forse, di Milano. Ci siamo stati diverse volte e abbiamo sempre apprezzato l’informalità della location e la cortesia e affabilità del personale. Stasera invece sono incappati in un grave problema: un enorme pelo nero nel club sandwich che sbucava da sotto impossibile da togliere e impossibile da non notare. Può capitare. Si sono scusati, direte? Avranno proposto un drink come ristoro? Si saranno mortificati? Nulla di tutto questo: hanno fatto un po’ di storie tra di loro e quando sono andato a pagare quello alla cassa mi ha detto: “il club sandwich lo avete rimandato indietro quindi non te lo faccio pagare”. Nient’altro, non un “scusa”, sembrava scettico e infastidito. Male, male, male. Va bene essere fighi, e aver mantenuto i prezzi ragionevoli, ma non si possono dimenticare le regole basilari della ristorazione: attenzione, pulizia e cortesia.

Ps. Faccio presente che nel bagno, anche questo molto bello, ma sporco ed unico per uomo, donna e portatori di handicap, c’era una candela accesa appoggiata ad un termosifone (instabile) con sotto uno sgabello di legno con la seduta in tessuto. Magari la prossima volta eviterei di rischiare di andare a fuoco per avere l’effetto Nirvana...

Ridiculous experience. Spent 45 minutes waiting for a Nacho’s starter when there were just 3 other tables busy at the place. Once asked how long it would take for them to bring them, the waiter replied in a bad manner saying it was still going to take ‘quite a while’. Had to get up and go talk to the bar to make them hurry up. Basically a waste of money and time; terrible service as well...
