Ok, this review is hard to write: I always liked this place for the leisure crowd and nice outside area, but after my brunch today, I am definitely sick of it: We came in today around 11:50 occupying a table for to. The staff was initially very attentive and took our order in record speed, so far so good. Coffee and bread are included in the basic brunch offer for three euros including also bread and two muffins (fair deal). My girl took a cake and crepe with veggies, I took scrambled eggs and a burger and ordered some milk for the tea. It all started with the milk not arriving. After remembering the waitress twice, a (molecular sized) vase of milk arrived. When the cake and eggs were served, I made her notice that she brought the dish. So basically my gf started eating after 5min, I had to wait another 20, in an empty place!!!!!!! So by time my gf had the second dish I was allowed to start with the first one. The cake was the highlight of the brunch, from there it went downhill: the potatoes coming with the crepe and the scrambled eggs were as old the vintage table we were sitting at, the crepe was cold and as tasteless as white pasta. All over 33€ for slow and bad service, even worse food and the feeling that it would have gotten even worse if I wouldn't have cancelled the second dish I had.
Btw: I know, that refilling toilet paper and soap requires science and technology, but I am sure a city with an endless quantity of universities can manage to offer you staff that is able to manage this problem.
old review === Great place for smokers with a vast outside area. Saturday and Sunday great offering for brunch and solid food...
Read moreVisited this place during daytime (around 17:00) with the intention to get a drink and a quick bite.
It is a rather 'bohemian' style place with outdoor seating on folding chairs (which were rather uncomfortable for a longer stay) and accompanying metal folding 'bistro' tables.
We ordered a white wine and a cocktail, with some cheese dumplings (sorry, forgot the name of them).
Overall, the atmosphere / ambiance was nothing special. Probably, in the evening and after dark, the 'wear and tear' of this place is not so obvious.
We would categorize the food and the drinks as 'average'. The waitress was not particular communicative, nor friendly. Maybe that was due to lack of English.
After we paid, we waived ourselves out (waitresses were too busy chatting...
Read moreThe bar is quite interesting. Use to be much better about 10 years ago but it keeps offering those good vibes and sometimes good entertainment. A few months ago I was there assisting to a very peculiar show: Turnet da bar. It was the interpretation of Rome and Juliet, the Shakespeare's play, but pretty much revisited... in a funny but elegant way. 2 actors + 1 musician only constantly engaging with a busing crowd. Really a cool event different from anything else I've been before. Maybe I've been lucky that evening picking up a great show but the place deserves a shot of you around in...
