This was one of the best places with traditional Napoletan pizza. Everybody who chooses to eat at Asaje needs to know that the pizza is not crunchy and thin. It is think and with fluffy dough, but it’s one of the best pizza doughs I have ever eaten.
Asaje is one of the most famous places in Turin, so it is better to be there right when they open the restaurant, because they don’t take reservations and it is almost always full. On Sundays, at lunch, it is not that full in the first hour of the opening, but during dinners it is always full.
The staff is very polite and they explain everything you need. There are classic pizzas, new ones, gourmet ones, and there is also a selection of fried Southern Italian dishes - such as arancina or fritto misto.
Make sure that you request digestivi after any meal. You will get a mini bucket with cold digestivi - limoncello, meloncello and a pistacchio drink. They are served on the house. I was very pleasantly surprised that, at the end of my lunch, I paid just the pizza, the sparkling water and the coperto (which is the service). It was great, and, in my opinion, the prices are medium ones for Turin.

Read moreOne of those above average pizzerias where you’d see lots of locals flocking in and that’s how you know it’s worth giving a try. The pizza dough indeed gets a special mention, it’s mildly chewy, has a smooth texture to it and quite airy, which must have to do something with the way they ferment it. Went there on a Saturday evening, there were long lines, however we managed to get a table in about 20 minutes. As we waited on your order, we got served pizze fritte polpette and prosecco as appetizers and after we’re done with our meal, we’re served with three liqueurs, meloncello, lemoncello and pistachio flavors, and from what we understood from the server, the liqueurs were homemade as well as Assaje brews it’s own beer. By our side, by the grill, a server was roasting chestnuts and served us some, immediately after roasting them, and that was indeed one of the most unique things I’ve ever experienced (which sort of alleviates the whole Assaje dining experience). The place easily makes it to the list of one of the best pizzerias in Milan and I totally recommend to give the whole experience a try for the meager amount you’re spending. Can’t...
Read moreWe've been to hundreds of places around the globe but, so far, this is definitely the best restaurant in terms of experience. We were welcomed with a Prosecco drinks on the house, just like everyone else. We ordered bruschettas, pizza, two cocktails and a tiramisu for dessert. Everything was perfectly served and delicious. The cocktail was a little bit too strong for me and I asked if I could have a little bit of sparkling water to fill in, and the waitress immediately wanted to take the cocktail away and prepare a new one, which I insisted not to. Then, we received a bottle of sparkling water free. Tiramisu was served in a beautiful coffee pot and it was amazing. At the end the waiters brought three liquors - pistacchio, lemon and orange. Also for free. In general, everything was perfect. Starting with the food, extra-caring staff, the atmosphere of place and people around, the chefs preparing pizza on our eyes, just perfect. The staff were coming several times to make sure we are okay. It's just amazing, truly the best experience of restaurant so far. We do recommend it a lot. To Assaje Team - thank you guys, you made our...
