edit: nobody else at my table has left a review, so clearly multiple other tables have the same problems…
The place and the menu have tons of potential, and maybe we went on a bad night. It overall felt like there was a severe lack of attention to detail and tons of miscommunication between servers and the kitchen. The dishes had great concept and flavor, but were not executed properly by the kitchen staff in my opinion.
We ordered multiple courses per person, wine, and asked for bread prior to ordering and with our order.
Our appetizers were delicious (tartare and caprese). No bread served.
The pasta dishes came out half warm half cold, we were suspicious of it being microwaved because of the outside being warm and the inner parts being cold. We decided to just eat it and not make any problems. In addition, we had to remind our server that we ordered wine and asked once again for bread. We finished this course by the time the bottle was served.
We finally received wine between antipasti and the main dishes, asked for bread again. Still no bread.
The main courses were served hot, we all mostly enjoyed them except for the duck which we would not recommend.
Throughout the meal, we never received bread despite asking. This didn’t upset us, but bread is a component of the cover charge at this restaurant, and we kindly pointed that out to the server. We also mentioned the cold pasta, which we had eaten without complaint due to already having to wait so long just to get wine and food. We made these complaints in a respectful way.
The server did not take the comments well and instead screamed across the restaurant at us in front of other guests. He discounted our meal and made petty comments about us being cheap Americans. My review would be better rated without his emotional breakdown.
The last thing I’ll say is if you doubt that this happened and we were yelled at, or that things came out suspiciously cold, or that there is a problem with the staff’s attitude, please read through their replies to any negative reviews. They will gaslight and attack people for any criticism. It’s actually pretty amusing to...
Read moreIt’s hard to put into words how amazing this restaurant is. From the owners & servers, to the food, to the atmosphere & ambiance. Start to finish, this was by far the BEST dinner experience that we have had, not only in Italy, but our ENTIRE lives. A review saying the same thing is what brought us to the restaurant but mama mia I did NOT expect to have an experience of a lifetime. We were welcomed with open arms & the staff blew our expectations out of the water. Don’t even get me started on the food, the pastas made us feel warm & truly gave us chills after finishing!! Mark my words, if I could and can, we will have this family cater our entire wedding, he agreed, I won’t forget ;). A truly authentic Italian experience to say the least. You cannot go wrong with ANY of the pastas that are offered and the same goes for the second courses. Don’t you worry either, the greatness carries onto the dessert menu as well. The tiramisu was to die for and you MUST try the tortelli. We were absolutely blown away and will make sure to ALWAYS stop here anytime we are ever in Italy. Even if it’s just a day trip to Milan specifically for it. If you’re looking for a sign, this is it, go to the restaurant, get to know the fine gentleman and his wife who run the place. She is a true GODDESS when it comes to pasta. I don’t say it often, but this was truly a PERFETTO experience from start to finish. The first thing I wanted to do upon arriving home, besides going down straight for a nap, was to leave these fine people the greatest review I could. If I could hand out Michelin stars, they would have THREE. The best Italian in Milan, the best pasta in Milan, just truly the BEST. I am sorry we did not catch your names but to the whole staff, if you’re reading this, thank you for making our final night in Italy the best one yet. We are already dreaming of coming back!!
I forgot to mention, after our first and second course, we HAD to go back for a 3rd round of pasta. Let me tell you, best decision we have ever made.

Read moreA strong start to a mediocre finish. Visiting Milan from Canada for the first time for a week. Thought we'd check out Barzac tonight as it was highly rated on Google with a fairly priced menu.
We were seated relatively fast without a reservation around 8:30pm. Immediately upon being seated our waiter says "I think you're not from here". Which wasn't offensive and was fun small talk but will ultimately come into play later.
We ordered promptly (Ravioli and Anolini) and were surprised to have our main dishes arrive only 10 mins later. Initially we were impressed and service was great. The food was good and enjoyed during our experience. This is where we started to get a bit more disappointed as the portions were quite small which could be understandable if the table next to us that had locals hadn't ordered the same dish and received a heftier portion than I did. To add to this, we were never offered any more water or if we needed anything else throughout service.
Dinner service wrapped quickly and promptly. Our tables were cleared by a different waiter and we had to ask for dessert menus. We flagged our initial waiter down to order and this is the point where we waited, and waited and waited. Nearly 15 minutes into our wait we made eye contact a few times with our waiter, 3 tables desserts came out and no response to our order. Understand that mistakes happen and orders missed but in one instance one of the waiters was spending a lot of time with the table next to us and then another instance a different one was comfortably sitting down with the table of locals next to us (previously mentioned) having a casual chat as we waited patiently for dessert. In the end after waiting over 30 minutes, we followed up with our waiter who must've forgotten and ultimately asked for the bill. Our waiter provided no apology and handed us the bill. We paid out and departed. Again, one off situations happen which I understand but overall certainly...
