I went for a coffee and some cakes here with two friends. The coffee and tea was fine but my cake was moldy, the other two cakes didn’t taste great but that’s personal taste obviously, in the end our appetite was gone. The waitress, who was kind but didn’t speak English very well, took my cake of the bill. They didn’t offer us something new or a replacement, which is quiet rude I feel like. When we went inside to pay and told them we didn’t agree with the fact they didn’t offer any kind of solution they made fun of us and started yelling. Than the manager came who was clearly stuck in a mid-life-crisis and told us everybody likes his cakes and we should pay. We try to communicate through google translate with him to ask for a solution but he ignored any kind normal human communication. In the end we took our loss and paid for all the drinks and cakes after he threatened to call the police and we had a train to catch within 15 minutes. It was a very unpleasant experience, all I could do in the end was record a video of his ridiculous behaviour, when I started recording he gave us a middle finger and blew us a little good bye kiss haha.

Food was okay. I can't say it was a rip off as it's up to the cafe to set prices and as long as the prices are clear,. it's up to the customer to decide if they will eat there or not. In many restaurants in Milan, there are 2 different prices - one for takeaway and another for table service. Cafe Olimpia is one such cafe. However for the weary customer who's looking to rest their feet, enjoy some air-conditioning and table service, using the restrooms, opting for table service will mean a higher price or table charge added. However, I do feel the prices are higher than other establishments elsewhere. On the other hand, the owners might be paying higher rentals too for the premium corner location, so he cannot help it. I can only say to my readers, prices might be higher here than you expect, but the location is near to the castle. If you are willing to pay, enjoy it. If you are looking for a cheap place to eat, better look elsewhere.

Awful. Partner and I desperate for the loo so thought we'd nip into this restaurant. Two cocktails cost us a mortgage! Gin and tonic is €12 and the bellini is €10. Bellini advertised as 'peach syrup, champagne'. Arrived as syrup. No fizz. Disgusting. The owner, I assume, in a flash suit and scarf, spots my face at the taste and stops to ask if everything is alright. 'Champagne? No. No no no. Is not champagne, only prosecco.' I said it is advertised wrong. He says he will change the menu, as if that waives the price of the cocktail. He says that if it were champagne it would cost €25 euros, hahahaha. Bogus. I said I don't want it. He asks if I want another drink or some prosecco. He comes over himself to top it up with some prosecco and adds a tiny slither to the glass. Literally a dribble. They also gave us the weirdest receipt ever... total gibberish.

We purchased two ice creams and a coffee. I went to try to sit down in the covered area and was stopped and told I could not because we hadn’t ordered enough, needed to spend 8 euros to sit down. I explained that in addition to the ice cream in my hand my husband still inside had an ice cream and coffee on the way. The gentleman kept arguing with me saying I needed to pay more euros and could not sit down. I tried to go inside and the other attendants also stopped me and said I could not sit down and needed to spend more. “8 euros those are the rules” they kept saying. I pointed out that only three guests were seated outside and no one was inside so there was plenty of room. Still they said no and that we must take our now melting ice cream to go unless we spend more euros. My husband had to get a to-go cup and plastic lid for his coffee which had been in a regular coffee cup initially and must have cost them at least 50 centavos; but that was what they insisted upon since we refused to spend more. We told them it was unfair to tell us this rule only after we had spent money on all the ice cream and coffee in our hands, on a day with temps in the high 80s. Not only that, when we left did the math and realized we had already spent 10 euros! I don’t know if they meant we needed to spend 8 more?! Ridiculous. The couple who wandered in after us, seeing that we were being refused seats after purchasing our ice cream and coffee there promptly cancelled their order and left. 1 star is for the bathroom which they let me use at the beginning of our time together while my husband was placing our orders and before the whole refusal of seating debacle. The bathrooms were clean and had soap and toilet paper and they didn’t charge me an extra fee to use them which is pretty extraordinary knowing what I now know about their modus operandi. The ice cream, like all ice cream in Milan, was...

If I could give it 0 stars, I would, such a SCAM!! It was raining heavily and we just wanted to grab something to eat to take back to our hotel room… 26€ for 4 small pastries and 2 cans of iced tea is actually insane 😵 all of this should have been 10€ at most! First, they were very scattered! They would start someone's order, and before finishing it they were already doing someone else’s. Makes no sense, it just made us wait longer. Second, as I comprehend not everyone is going to have the same level of english as a native or a bilingual person, the very basic of it is should be required of at least one person working in places like this in heavily touristy cities such as Milan. They barely understood us and vice-versa. Third, didn’t give us any kind of receipt, not the ATM terminal nor the cash register one. In fact, the owner (who was the one who came out of basically nowhere for no good reason just to check us and a couple of others out) was very adamant in removing the ATM terminal receipt out of the machine so we couldn’t get to it it seemed like. We paid without making a fuss, exactly because we saw they either didn’t speak much of english or weren’t willing to… so it would end up being a one sided conversation or a heated argument and we were not in the mood for neither. As soon as we got in the metro, we took our phones out and searched the place on Google to leave it a review and warn other tourists. Little did we know others had already encountered the same fate as us, and some a lot worse! Moral of the story: ❌ DO NOT GO THERE!!! ❌ Even if you’re really desperate for something! The best thing to do is walk a couple more steps and go...
