On the last night of our Milanese adventure, my friend Ido and I found ourselves at the doorstep of Tartufotto by Savini Tartufi, following a disappointing experience at Zia Esterina Pizza. My task was to redeem the earlier culinary mishap, and Tartufotto seemed like the right choice, despite my initial reservations about indulging in truffle dishes in mid-June, an off-peak season for truffles.

Tartufotto prides itself on Italian fusion dishes with a truffle twist. The menu provided the option to choose between white and black truffles, though the black variant was the only one available given the season. The allure of the dishes, coupled with the tantalizing aroma of truffles, heightened our expectations for the evening.

We decided to share the tagliali pasta, generously flavored with black truffles, and opted for their truffle-infused burgers as our main course. Despite being out of prime truffle season, the dishes managed to impress. The pasta was delightful, and the burgers provided a refreshing change from the norm, all delivered with easy-going service that added to our positive dining experience.

While the culinary experience at Tartufotto was a definite upgrade from our previous meal, it did come at a cost. The total bill, including cola zero and a bottle of water, came to 120 euros. This price point felt a bit steep for the value we received, but it didn't detract from the fact that we enjoyed a pleasant dinner.

In conclusion, Tartufotto by Savini Tartufi proved to be a satisfying finale to Ido’s trip to Milan. Although the timing wasn't ideal for truffle-centric dining and the price was somewhat on the higher side, the quality of the food and the enjoyable atmosphere made our dinner an agreeable experience. For truffle enthusiasts, Tartufotto might be worth considering during the peak truffle season for an even more...

Real Story. We got there not knowing exactly what to expect. It was a friends recommendation but very broad, the “you have to go” type and that was it. We went for the tasting, dangerous and ambitious. 2 appetizers, 1 starter, 1 first, 1 main and dessert.... White truffle. The first thing was just an olive... WOW. How can a freaking olive taste so good? Second thing was a “bruschetta”, truth is was a little bread with butter, anchovies and truffle... What in the world? How can this little bread taste so good? Third thing was an egg with truffles.. it was good, I’m definitely doing that now for my breakfast. Fourth, some pasta. Tbh I think it was butter and truffles and it was insanely good. The butter they have is like idk can’t even explain it. Fifth, carbonara and truffles. At this point and after thinking (not saying) that the plates were small, I’m actually full. But this is so good I can’t stop eating. I ate 3/4 of the dish just because I knew I had one more and the dessert. Sixth, steak tartar and truffles. Pffff I can’t even explain the steak tartar with super crispy nuts and the truffles. It’s ridiculous how good it was. Dessert... tiramisú and truffles. You know what? I’m not even telling you more. Just go. The only not so good thing is that there wasn’t any guide in what we were eating, it was like “here’s your dish”. But tbh I don’t care, it was so delicious I don’t even care. Sorry this review was so long but I had to give you a real insight. Oh, of course we bought truffles olive oil... because those breakfast...

3.5 out of 5.0. We had high expectation for this truffle dish restaurant but unfortunately this became a disappointing choice, especially considering its high price.

The best one is the catch of today. The fish tender and its skin is crispy. The vege is crunchy and potato mash tastes smooth.

A couple of disappointing one: The spaghetti of black truffle spaghetti tastes much below par in my understanding of Italian standard. I can confirm that it was really soaky when I was staying in different Milan restaurants in subsequent days. I think it ruins the joy of black truffle. Chef recommended tuna tartare is also below high standard. It has many tendons inside and is far from the excellent one I have ever had. Truffle salad is reasonably fine but a bit dry. We forgot to ask for oil and salt, but the waiter/ress also did not ask if we need them

The service is generally very good though, and the atmosphere is also...
