If it would be for style, location and quality of the food, I would give them 5 stars withouth hesitation. However, we had expirienced really unwellcoming and sloppy service. I believe it was partially because we brought a child to the lunch (it looked they have mainly lunches for buissness people, no turists) . However, we called the restaurant in advance and reserved a table for 3, with clear information we are coming with a small child (2.5 years), making it possible for them to make it clear, that children are not wanted.
When we entered, the were really unwellcoming; the restaurant was nearly empty, and they offered us a table for 2 with no seat for a child. This would obliged me to have a child in my lap for the time of the entire lunch, which I refused and emphasised that we booked table for 3 in advance. Then they offered a table where there was not enought space for us to seat normally, they were bumping into us all the time l, while they were serving other tables. This was even more disturbing as the restaurant had 2 other stare tables while we were there. Moreover, they constantly forgot to give us enought cluttery, so we had to ask for additional fork, knife or napkin from the frist course on. At the end they forgot the order of one of desserts and we had to wait additional 10 minute to be able to start to eat desert together. Althought we usually give generous tips, we decidet we will give none for the fist time in the years, due to all of the facts above.
I am vegeterian and they only offer 2 vegeterian dishes on the entire menue, with a lack of vegeterian option for starter or vegetarion main menue. But it probably works for them, and the option I ordered was one of the best cacio e pepe I ever had. My husbant is quite picky and stricked regarding the food, but was also enthusiastic about the tastes. Vine selection is pretty good also.
Regarding of the reasons why we deserved such a 2nd class service, I believe it shows more about the lack of culture of the service than us. The best restaurants I have been to, many of them much fancier than this one, never gave you this feeling...
Read moreCame here upon the recommendation of a friend. It was located in a quiet little street.
The inside it elegantly designed with 3-4 tables with a small bar leading to another room with another set of 3-4 tables. There is a party room able to seat considerably more people.
The bathrooms were small (big for europe) but spotless.
The two staff are fantastic! They are quite attentive, Karo was a great storyteller and help set the mood.
They have a large wine selection for any budget and a varied menu that changes seasonally. One mainstay on the menu was the octopus and while I'm not generally a fan of octopus this was divine (Karo's suggestion.) The risotto milanese with osso bucco was fantastic. Leaving the best for last, the banana millefoglie is what bananas foster aspires to be. It was a truly great way to end the night.
If you have a couple days in Milan you should definitely give this place a shot! We'll will be back the next...
Read moreAs we strolled past the restaurant, our eyes caught a glimpse of a dashing gentleman standing at the entrance, flashing his bright smile. The clock had almost struck three and the restaurant was about to close, but he couldn't help but apologize profusely. In that very moment, I felt a spark within me, urging me to return.
With a server as delightful as him, I knew this restaurant had to be exceptional. So, we planned a romantic dinner date for the following night, and the moment we savored the first bite, we fell in love. The food was exquisite, and Renato's charming and attentive service made our time in Milan unforgettable.
He has now etched himself a special place in my heart, and every time I think of him, my heart flutters with excitement. Oh, sweet Renato, you will forever hold a special place in my heart. Anastasia from...
