Meatball Family — Restaurant in Milan

If you’re a meatball lover, RUN — don’t walk — to this place. These aren’t your average spaghetti-sidekick meatballs. We’re talking tender, juicy, perfectly seasoned spheres of joy that could stand alone as a meal (and they do). The classic black angus-pork blend is a knockout, but the eggplant Portofino? is a game-changer. Each one is served with just the right amount of sauce — rich, tangy, and slow-simmered like grandma meant it.

The atmosphere is cozy, the service is warm and very accomodating, and you’ll leave with a smile and possibly sauce on your shirt (worth it). They also offer a bib (bavaglia) to protect you from sauce.

I’ve never written a review about meatballs before, but these deserve a standing...

We randomly came across this place and it was a pleasant surprise! The meatballs were the best we've ever had! The staff was very accommodating as they were busy and we didn't have a reservation but they seated us anyway. We got the original meatball and spaghetti and it honestly was one of the best meals we had in Italy! We went to two of the other locations because of this meal but this location was the best! It was the only location that gave taster meatballs and the focaccia...

Il locale è molto carino e informale. I ragazzi sono molto gentili, simpatici e mettono a proprio agio l’avventore. Una volta tanto un servizio di qualità! Ambiente ordinato e pulito. Accogliente. Noi abbiamo provato il menù di degustazione che comprende delle pizzette fritte, della focaccia con un barattolino di sugo e una selezione delle loro polpette. Una bontà unica! A inizio pasto ti accolgono con una polpettina di benvenuto e poi hanno portato il resto. Per fortuna che abbiamo saltato l’antipasto perché alla fine eravamo strapiene! Le polpette sono morbide, succose e saporite. Sono accompagnate dal loro sughetto (ad eccezione dei mondeghili e di quelle con le patate) dentro a un pentolino di alluminio. Una tira l’altra come giusto che sia e sono talmente buone che è stato difficile trattenersi dal leccare il padellino! Il menù é vario non ci sono solo polpette ma anche altri piatti tradizionali come la carbonara, la pasta alla norma etc. Ma fidatevi le polpette sono spettacolari. Abbiamo chiuso con un tortino al cioccolato molto buono. Un altra cosa molto carina: con il caffè ti portano un barattolo pieno di amaretti. Erano friabili e buonissimi tanto che mia cugina ha esordito dicendo che non ama questo tipo di dolcetto é finita con il mangiarsene 5. Come le polpette ino tira l’altro! Un complimento ai due ragazzi che ieri sera hanno gestito la sala: professionali, gentili e molto attenti a recepire le richieste di noi avventori. Ci torneremo...
