Gran Caffè — Restaurant in Milan

Tried to grab and ice cream here as we were walking through the square. No organisation or queues with the servers behind the counter swapping over from different counters to serve who they felt like. Didn’t end up trying as after waiting 10 minutes, ended up giving up and went to Gelateria Caffè Cremeria dell'Angelo a 2 min walk past the square. Great quick service much bigger portion size from what we saw at Gran Caffe, and it was the proper Italian ice cream that is covered in the tins. Having now checked more reviews with most being negative, and referencing poor / rude service - I know understand.

Feels like the typical tourist trap that doesn’t care about service or quality as it’s simply serving tourists...

Coffe and a cappucino 5 euros haha, cheap plastic chairs and table, if you go a bit further down the street i find a bunch of chinese bars with way better service.Btw for this price u can take a full breakfast...

Sono rimasta sinceramente scioccata dal trattamento ricevuto in questo bar. Dopo aver ordinato due caffè, io e la mia amica abbiamo semplicemente chiesto due bicchieri d’acqua. La risposta del proprietario? "Posso darvi un goccio d’acqua, il bicchiere si paga. Non siamo mica a Napoli." Una frase non solo poco cortese, ma anche profondamente offensiva e carica di pregiudizi. Trovo inaccettabile che nel 2025 esistano ancora esercizi pubblici in cui si viene trattati con tanta arroganza e con battute discriminatorie. Il caffè, tra l'altro, era mediocre.
