This was recommended to us by Federico, our bartender at Backdoor. I said I was in the mood for pasta and great wine and this place delivered that and MORE. We actually just came from Tuscany but stayed in a resort/hotel with limited food options and this dinner more than compensated. It felt like an authentic Tuscan dinner. Absolutely delicious but the value was amazing as well.
Service was perfect. Our server split our pasta once we said we were sharing both the pasta and a pizza. He recommended a great bottle of Sangiovese, and also did not steer us wrong with a pasta that paired so well (Pici Ubriachi - been on the menu since 1979) and was delicious. He suggested the panzella to start and the Norcina pizza. Both excellent. Norcina pizza is covered in truffle and felt like a steal for 18 euro.
I would absolutely come back again and recommend to anyone looking for a Tuscan dinner. Value is great (110 euro for whole meal including a bottle of wine, starter, two entrees, and espressos). The patio is sooo cute as well. Such a...
Read moreThis place will make your trip/evening extra special. My husband and I were lucky enough to to get a reservation for this true pearl of Milano. For a Tuscan restaurant in Milan, we were surprised that the food we experienced was superior to everything we have ever had in Tuscany. We ordered the foie grad pâté and the trio of tartare for starters. Both were dreamy. For the main we went with the traditional Bisteca a lá Fiorentina, and my husband who had never tried it before dares to say it was one of the best meat experiences in his life. The service provided all night to us by the sweet, competent and extremely attentive Francesca was nothing short of stellar. All the rest of the staff was extremely kind as well, you can tell they live what they do. Amazing food, great wine, top service, what more can we ask? We just wish to come back as soon as...
Read moreUnfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this pretty canal-side restaurant at all. Pleasant, quiet terrace, service up to scratch, that is, until the waiter was seen pouring a long stream of wine into another bottle of wine with a different label, then pouring it into a glass he took to a customer at a neighbored table. On the way back, he made no secret of the fact that he was drinking wine from the bottle. We were shocked by this behavior - it had never been seen before! You're paying for a wine that isn't the one on the menu, and taking the risk of catching even a rum, flu or whatever, given that it's customary for them to drink from the bottle reserved for customers. Bad experience. For those lucky enough not to experience this, note that the pizzas are extremely large, so...
