Il Santo Bevitore — Restaurant in Milan

We wanted to originally get a pizza nearby but decided to eat here instead, the reviews were good so why not!

The owners were nice and spoke pretty decent english but we had a barrier as our order was bigger then we asked for, we ended up having meatballs and pasta/spaghetti, we asked for a share portion but j stead got 2 full blown plates so was alot more then asked for,

Then the food itself went bad real fast, pasta was really hard, not quite crunchy but it was not as soft as you would like it to be and really had to bite to eat it! Then the meatballs were nasty, they certainly was not beef and i have no idea what it was made from but i had a small bite and that was it for me! I could not finish the meal anymore, the wife had the same as from above and she just ended up eating the pasta part and thats it,

I did not know you can ruin pasta but i guess i was wrong!

Overall it was an OK experiance and the food was the let down,

The place was really nice and chilled and friendly and the wine selection is more the i have ever seen anywhere to date so that i am happy with.

So my review is mainly for the food...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Il Santo Bevitore in Milan, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish.

The ambiance of the restaurant is both cozy and elegant, creating a perfect setting for a memorable meal. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every detail was taken care of.

The menu offers a delightful array of dishes that showcase the best of Italian cuisine with a modern twist. Each dish we tried was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor.

One standout was the chef's excellent wine recommendations, which perfectly complemented our meal. The selection of wines is impressive.

Ho dovuto organizzare un pranzo con alcuni ospiti con poco preavviso e "Il Santo Bevitore" era l'unico ristorante ad avere disponibilità quel giorno in zona.

Menu: Alcuni piatti sul menù sono discreti (ravioli allo zafferano, carbonara al tartufo), altri meno (pietanze a base di pesce).

Servizio: il cameriere tatuato è gentile, disponibile e competente. Il resto dello staff è veramente imbarazzante. Il proprietario, è una persona che vive in un costante stato di stress, che scarica sugli ospiti del ristorante, facendoli sentire a disagio e fuori posto. Mi sono sentita veramente un disturbo nel ristorante, ho percepito che priorità fosse chiudere tassativamente entro una certa ora, iniziando addirittura a pulire la cucina e la sala mentre gli ospiti stanno ancora mangiando.

Ristorante: piccolo, abbastanza carino, mediante curato. Ci sono alcuni elementi da rivedere, come il condizionatore e alcuni elementi della cucina "a vista" non troppo belli.

Spesa: 45€ a persona per antipasto (diviso) e un primo, con una bottiglia di vino ogni 4 persone (scegliendo il vino più economico presente sul menù, che è principalmente composto da vini che vanno dai 200€ in sù).

Non tornerò mai più in questo ristorante perché ho provato veramente imbarazzo verso i miei ospiti a causa della profonda maleducazione del proprietario.

Inoltre, non capisco il target: l'ambiente evidentemente non è elegante, la cucina è media, però apri la carta dei vini è quella di uno stellato a Dubai.. mah, non c'è proprio equilibrio. Perché dovrei avere una scelta tra vari champagne da 500 euro da abbinare a una cucina da osteria e un servizio da tavola calda in stazione? E poi i classici vini italiani da 40/50€ sono 3 e relegati all'ultima pagina del menù, proprio per far sentire l'ospite a disagio nell'ordinarli.. non avrebbe più senso consentire di scegliere tra più vini in questo range? Non a caso è l'unico ristorante a Milano in cui si trova...
