L'Altra Taverna — Restaurant in Milan

We got there around 7.30pm on a weekday. There were a handful of customers sitting outside and a few inside. We were ushered downstairs to the fairly large basement where we were the only customers.

First problem: the menu is in Italian only. Only one woman could speak enough English. We persevered and she gave us enough time to finally place our orders. Pizza was good. The base itself seemed to have a good flavour, which I had not experienced elsewhere.

By 8pm the basement was 90% full and very noisy. This meant everybody had to raise their voices to be heard--noise begets even more noise. At this point I noticed that two customers had brought their dogs in.

They have about 4 items on their desserts menu. We were shown samples and the four people in our group chose a different item so that we can all taste each of the four items. They were all good.

Fin dal nostro arrivo, siamo stati accolti con grande professionalità e calore. Un plauso speciale va al cameriere che ci ha servito, la cui attenzione al cliente ha reso la nostra serata ancora più piacevole. Ci ha saputo consigliare con maestria, dimostrando una conoscenza approfondita del menù e una genuina disponibilità a soddisfare ogni nostra esigenza. Il suo servizio impeccabile e discreto ha contribuito a creare un'atmosfera davvero speciale.

Ma veniamo al cibo: una vera delizia! Le pizze erano a dir poco squisite, frutto di una ricerca attenta e di una selezione di ingredienti di altissima qualità. Ogni morso era un'esplosione di sapori, a dimostrazione di una cucina che punta all'eccellenza e alla raffinatezza. Si percepisce chiaramente la cura e la passione nella scelta delle materie prime, che elevano la pizza a un livello superiore.

Inoltre, la carta dei vini è eccellente, con etichette ben selezionate che si abbinano perfettamente alle proposte culinarie, arricchendo ulteriormente l'esperienza gastronomica.

You've better explore Milano by finding the true Pizzeria like La Taverna where you can enjoy one of the best pizza in town. I ate 1 pizza a week from the day I found this place and can't stop thinking about "Quattro Formaggi" (4 cheeses) even when I leave Milano. How can I eat another pizza instead...
