L'Antica Pizzeria • da Michele — Restaurant in Milan

When I visit Milan or any of my friends, I always recommend this restaurant, but last night I had the most shocking experience. We arrived at the restaurant and got seated. 10 mins later, our drinks order was taken. The staff asked if we wanted water, and we said yes. Still or sparkling? I responded still. Immediately, the staff picked up and went away with the water glasses. 10 mins later we ordered our food. 1 portion of Crocetonne and 2 pizzas. A few mins later, the starter was delivered. The server picked the plate when I finished, and then we sat for 30 mins waiting. 2 tables that arrived after us got their pizzas, so we politely asked the server. He replied with just "One minute." Another 10 mins went by, and I got up to ask the manager. On my way, I stopped our server to ask him. He said 2 minutes. He then came over to the table and said the delay was because we ordered a starter. Didn't seem like a fair excuse, so we got up to leave. When we confronted the manager from whom we got the bill, he said to us that we ordered a starter, so the pizza was delayed. We told him it shouldn't take 30 mins after the starter plate was picked to get a pizza. He aggressively responded "You can see, I am very busy, so if you understand, good. If not, it's ok, you can go" The most shocking and unsympathetic response I have ever gotten from any restaurant. Will never recommend this place to any of my friends/colleagues. Terrible attitude...

After checking the Barcelona opening of this famous Napoli pizzeria we came to this new place in Milan. The restaurant is very big and has a nice closed terrace where you can enjoy the sunny days... As in Barcelona, the menu is bigger than the original Napoli restaurant where there's only Marinara and Margherita. Here you can find some more versions but If you want to experience the same exact thing as you where in Napoli you need to try these two. Even with this huge restaurant It gets crowded really quick, so if you want to find a table I would recommend to arrive early. After the restaurant is full they start delivering ticket numbers as in Napoli. We've tried the margherita and it was really tasty! The flavors are just super intense! I am a person who is very selective when eating pizza. Unfortunately this branch didnt meet my expectations. I have been to l’antica pizzeria de michele’s Napoli and Amsterdam branches many times before visiting here. So I can do the comparison.

We had only margarithas here. The mozzeralla taste is far away from buffalo mozzerala of Napoli’s. The dough is quite the same and very good. Tomate souce tasted different and very subtle.

The service is very fast and good. The place feels luxirous. The waiter even provided additional napkins after seeing us struggling with the sauce. Very nice service. 10/10

I gave 5* because the pizza is still very good when compared to many other pizzerias I tried. Its just below my expectations. I just started not to like other pizzas after eating margarithas at Napoli’s l’antica...
