L — Restaurant in Milan

So many red flags we decided to leave before even eating (group of 4). We were just checking the menu when one of the waiters approached us, asked where we were from (for sure to know how touristy we were) and quickly started showing us all the beautiful pictures of the food that they make before we were even able to read the actual menu. I knew that it was sketch when he started saying "everything here is home made not like the place (to the left and to the right)". To me it seemed a pretty gross way to eliminate your competition especially that the other places were full unlike this one. We were then pressured into sitting down which we did as we were very hungry and while I left to the bathroom, my boyfriend decided to look up the reviews (so happy he did). Their terrasse is on the main street while the restaurant is on the side street so you don't know the name of the place unless you specifically look for it. I came back after 5 minutes and we still had no menu and no one approached us. On top of the bad reviews, we decided to leave. The place was setup to be a tourist...

Be very careful!!

We saw the signs for Aperol and pizza slice 5€. We were approached whilst still looking at the sign and asked if we wanted to eat. We said maybe just a drink. Once seated we were told the offer no longer on so we opted for just 2 aperol spritz. The drinks arrived with a small very plain pizza, a few olives, crisps and some sliced meat. The waiter said I give you these for free. When we asked for the bill we were asked if we wanted another drink. We declined and said just the bill. The waiters manner changed somewhat abs he asked abruptly if paying cash. We said yes and he said ‘that’s €30’ He pointed quickly to the table to the olives and crisp bowl and he said ‘these were free’, the rest you pay.

We paid as don’t like to argue because of the language barrier and feel awkward.

Lesson learnt though! Always get a clear price before you sit down. Don’t be badgered into dining anywhere unless you are happy with the choices/prices on the menus. Maybe screenshot the menu outside too to be able to check your bill.

If I could give this a minus rating, I would. Upon arriving, the guy on the door let us in and we sat down. Rather than the staff acknowledging there are now customers, they were stood there arguing and bickering with one another. When ordering, we chose what we wanted and waited a while for what was simply meant to be a cup of coffee. ☕️ we finished our drinks and headed in to pay where we were greeted by the rudest barista and manger who shouted at us. Bear in mind they knew were weren’t local, they started yabbering in Italian AT us. We queried the bill as the service charge was astronomical - it was like for like as the price of each coffee per person. They then proceeded to shout and be rude to not only myself, but to my cousin and my uncle. And when asking for the toilet, they were reluctant at first to point us in the right direction. Honestly, service here is appalling! Would not recommend in the slightest!!! Avoid at all costs unless you’re prepared to pay equal amount service charge as...
