Well wow well.... where to start.... In Milan's fair city, we embarked on a quest, To dine at SIGNORVINO, where taste buds are blessed. A masterful restaurant, each detail was sublime, Let me take you on our journey, one step at a time. PART I: "Wine of Elegance" Bigger Prosecco Rose Brut, a sparkling delight, Chilled to perfection, sweet as the starry night. Paired with our feast, it set the tone just right, A symphony of flavors, a harmonious flight! PART II: " MAGNUM Board's Delight" The MAGNUM board, a true work of art, Meats and cheese that play their part. Parma ham, Mortadela, a delicious start, Buffalo mozzarella, a creamy burst from the heart <3 Focaccia was warm and perfectly baked, With Gorgonzola and Parmigiana, to partake. Marmalade jam so sweet, for our sweet tooth's sake, A culinary journey, no detail to ever forsake. PART III: "Carbonara's Seduction" Following next the MEZZI MANICHE ALLA CARBONARA's call, Joined with crispy pork jowls, in black pepper's thrall! Eggs and Pecorino, a masterpiece for all, A dish to swoon over, a flavor festival's sprawl. PART IV: "Sweet Tiramisu's Charm" As for dessert, a tiramisu in a traditional jam jar, A display of beauty, near and far. Complimented with espresso, it shone like a star, SIGNORVINO Coffee, a coffee "AVATAR"! PART V: "Ambiance and Wine's Embrace" Amidst modern ambiance, clean and well-defined, SIGNORVINO's charm was one of a kind. In-store wine shop, and many treasures to find, The atmosphere is truly refined. PART VI: "Service, A Poetic Grace" Impeccable service, from beginning to end, Staff was kind and courteous, they were a true friend! <3 From A to Z, they helped us ascend, To culinary heights, where flavors transcend. PART VII: "No Cons in Sight" As for cons, my search was in vain... For SIGNORVINO, there's nothing to disdain... Keep up the good work, let success reign... In Milan's heart, you've left an indelible stain! FINALLY: "*****+ STARS" Prosperous growth to your business, my wife and I implore, SIGNORVINO, you've left us wanting more! A culinary journey, a memory to store, In Milan's embrace, forever we adore :) -MM & JM

After a five-week Italian Road Trip we went to Milan for a day. We've had great food, met great people and visited many many beautiful places. So far, Milan was a bit a let-down, apart from the amazing Duomo. But then this place came along and made our daytrip to Milan really worth the time. We already came in here quick before lunchtime, having a coffee and prosecco for breakfast :) We liked the atmosphere quite much and decided to come back later that afternoon. And so we did. We like this kind of "restaurant", which is actually more a combination of a wine store and a restaurant. We really loved the style and the laid-back atmosphere. Staff was nice, not rushing not pushing, really let us having a good time without time-pressure. Ok, when we ordered a glass of white and a glass of Rosé at first two glasses of White wine arrived....no Rosé. But no harm done, a little mistake, nobody got mad and we got our Rosé quickly after. Apart from that it was a wonderful afternoon here. After the wine we ordered some food: Fried Aubergines, some salumi and parma ham. All for 5 Euros a plate...which is - especially for a major town - a great price. And we ordered a bottle of Amarone, 24 Euros, which was again a very fair deal. Salumi and Aubergines were good, but the Parma ham was fantastic. Great nibbles to go with the lovely and smooth Amarone. Not the strongest and most flavourful Amarone you can get, but for 24 Euros it's worth double its price. Before leaving we bought two bottles of the amazing Limoncello "Il Convento". They sell it for 15 Euros (0.7 Litres), a real steal. We've had so many different Limoncellos over the years. And this one is our absolute favourite (we've bought it many time before). Made by monks without any additives and food colour. A wonderful liquor, be sure to get some. So, Milan was a mixed bag for us. But this place really made our day!

Located in a touristy area, my expectations were not very high (we were hungry and it was getting late); however, this was the worst Italian food I have ever had for reasons as follows: 1. Pasta was undercooked; 2. Whilst the food presented nicely, it had minimal flavour - I ordered the carbonara, but it tasted like boxed mac and cheese with bacon on top; 3. Polenta was a messy glug; 4. All dishes were lukewarm (almost cold); 5. The bread (which I sent back) was days old. I politely asked the waiter for fresh bread - I demonstrated how stale the bread was by knocking it on the wooden table - he apologised and replaced the bread. Unfortunately, he replaced the stale bread with a different bag of stale bread. No staff came up to us to see if everything was OK. I tried to get the attention of staff to make a complaint about the second bag of bread, but they took avenues to avoid eye contact. I managed to get the attention of another staff member, and I complained, stating that the bread was so hard I couldn't bite into it. We couldn't finish our meal because it was simply terrible. No one asked if we wanted dessert or more drinks etc. The whole experience was very poor. To see how hard and stale the bread was, watch the video on YouTube (search "Signorvino Stale Bread - Milan"). The food, drinks and €3.00 "service charge" cost me a total of $85 AUD. While I appreciate the price is expected given we are in Milan, it was definitely not worth stale, rock-hard bread, lukewarm pasta and poor service.
