I recently had the pleasure of dining at Risoelatte Restaurant, a delightful establishment that captures the essence of 1960s Italy and the era of dolce vita. From the moment I stepped inside, it felt as though time had stood still, and I was transported back to a bygone era.

The ambiance of Risoelatte is truly charming, with retro décor and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The attention to detail is remarkable, from the vintage furnishings to the classic music playing softly in the background. It's clear that the owners have put a lot of thought and love into creating an authentic experience.

Now, let's talk about the food. The star of the show at Risoelatte is undoubtedly the "riso al salto." This traditional Italian dish is a masterpiece. The rice is perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the crispy crust adds a delightful texture. Each bite is a symphony of flavors, with hints of herbs and Parmesan cheese dancing on your taste buds. It's a dish that truly showcases the culinary excellence of the 1960s.

But the culinary delights don't stop there. The dessert menu is a journey through time, with an array of sweets featuring recipes straight from the 1960s. Every dessert is a work of art. The flavors are rich and indulgent, transporting you back to a time when desserts were meant to be savored and enjoyed.

In addition to the outstanding food, the service at Risoelatte is impeccable. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about providing a memorable dining experience. They are more than happy to recommend dishes and share stories about the restaurant's history, further enhancing the nostalgic atmosphere.

All in all, Risoelatte is a hidden gem that offers a taste of the sweet life of 1960s Italy. The combination of delicious food, beautiful ambiance, and attentive service makes it a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic experience. I highly recommend indulging in the "riso al salto" and leaving room for one of their delectable desserts. Prepare to be transported to a different era and to savor the flavors of a truly remarkable...

Step into a movie: Milan as it once was - If you're looking for a place that blends tradition with a touch of innovation, Risolatte is your spot. Located in the heart of Milan, it's refreshingly far from the tourist traps and flashy but soulless hotspots that often dominate the city center. Instead, it's tucked away on a charming street, well-known to locals but delightfully off the beaten path - a joy to stroll through before stepping inside.

Here, you’ll find a meticulously recreated 1950s/60s home. From vintage furniture to authentic tableware, wall décor, and even clotheslines, every detail evokes an era long past. But don’t mistake this for a dated trattoria. Risolatte innovates by delivering an immersive dining experience, capturing not just the aesthetics but also the spirit of the time - both in design and food.

The menu is a comforting nod to Lombardy's culinary heritage, offering classics like “cassoeula". It’s the kind of food your grandmother might have cooked: hearty, flavorful, and satisfying without being overindulgent. Dishes are served in vintage pots and pans, adding to the nostalgic charm. While it’s not fine dining, the food is consistently good - you’ll leave full and happy, which is a rarity in Milan's city center.

What truly sets Risolatte apart is its warmth. The staff is welcoming, smiling, and engaging - friendly without being overbearing, another rare gem in a city that can sometimes feel a little too hurried or aloof. And yes, they speak fluent English, making it an easy choice for visitors.

One quirk to note: the evening operates on a double seating schedule (7:30–9:30 PM). While this may feel a bit rushed, the swift service ensures you’re well-fed without compromising on quality. The online reservation system requires a deposit - a transparent and practical policy more restaurants should adopt.

Risolatte isn’t just a meal; it’s a trip back in time, like stepping onto the set of a vintage Italian film. If you’re yearning to experience Milan as it once was, with all its charm and authenticity, this is the...

Strange place actually. Long story short: Awful hospitality More bill other than menu Average food. Expensive prices Cold environment in November. Here is our experince 1-We have booked a table for two using their website. 2-A gentleman (!) at the entrance , who cant speak English in a Milano restaurant, asked about our reservation with help of a kind waitress. 3-We had told them we had reservation. 4-He asked our name and could not find our reservation. 5-He asked about confirmation of the reservation. 6- We replied and said we lost our internet connection and will check if he can share the restaurants wifi password. 7- He refused. And offered an one hour seat. 8- We guessed the password correctly. Connected to internet. We got the confirmation from Whatsapp. Showed the confirmation. 9- He had to accept us. 10- While we finished our meals and enjoying our drinks a waitress came and asked us to leave because they had other reservations. 11- We declined. 12- The gentleman at the entrance came back with a waitress to insist us to leave, claimed we had only 90 minutes at table. We showed him another empty table and reservation massage having no 90 minutes rule. They asked for email and said Whatsapp massage is not enough. We showed them 2 email confirmation. 13- They asked other 3 tables to leave without even finishing their drinks. 14- Two table left. 15- We asked for check. They said it is paid at the entrance. 16- The bill was 3 Euro more than we have calculated. We have asked for menu to check. We showed service fee is 3 Euro. 17- They said it is 3 Euro per person. 18- We said we will pay the bill but they should correct the menu.We added they havent offer the complimantory local liquor which was claimed to be offered at the menu. 19- They offered the liquor after we reminded while standing paying the bill. 20- We declined. Payed the bill and left.

When I was recommended by a friend for this place as our top spot in Milan, I wasn’t entirely sold post google. Sure the place was cute and kitschy but I wanted some seriously good food but mostly Milanese cutlet. This place was as delicious as the decorations are nostalgic. It’s set up in a neat sort of half tiered seating as it goes up half a floor and then up one more half for the full floor. The place is decorated in reminiscent articles of the 50’s/60’s that bring the realization of what it would have looked like if I had an adorable Italian grandma. We got a cute little table for three and ordered the house wine, cheese plate, meatballs, cacio e Pepe. cotoletta and ossobuco. I want to say any one of these were not that great but I really can’t. The cheese plate was served with what seemed like the most delicious house made applesauce, something I never knew I needed with my cheese. The beef meatballs had morsels of pumpkin in a tomato sauce that was so light and perfect. The cotoletta was enormous to say the least. Perfectly crusted with flaky salt and bits of sage, little potatoes, and a yellow sort of aioli that didn’t overpower but simply accented everything going on. The cacio was a perfect amount of creamy with just the right amount of black pepper. But the real star was that ossobuco- holy moly how is anything that delicious!? The rich risotto and bone marrow and fall off the bone meat. Please, just get it. You’ll be happy you did. TLDR; this was one of the best meals I had during my time in Italy. Go treat yourself and get some too!
