Starbucks Reserve Roastery: The Coffee Factory in Milan
Milan is home to one of the six Starbucks Reserve Roasteries in the world. From materials to experiences, everything in Piazza Cordusio is a tribute to coffee and the people who take care of it
In Milan, in Piazza Cordusio, the Starbucks Reserve Roastery involves people in a 360-degree coffee experience. The location, characterized by a mix of experiential aspects that can be enjoyed with the eyes and with the taste , is frequented by both coffee enthusiasts and tourists passing through the city center.
The origins of the famous brand are based on the concept of ' Third Place ', that is, a familiar , comfortable situation that complements the two places we usually frequent most in our lives: the home and the office.
Starbucks Reserve Roastery: the iconic store for the entire EMEA area (Europe, Middle East and Africa)
The Starbucks Reserve Roastery is a flagship store where the experience takes center stage â both taste and sight.
There are only six Starbucks Reserve Roasteries in the world (specifically in the cities of Seattle, Shanghai, Milan, New York, Tokyo and Chicago) and they are concepts that involve people within the world of Starbucks and coffee â the protagonist of the entire universe of the brand.
Inside each Starbucks Reserve Roastery you can taste and test different types of ethically sourced Arabica coffee from different parts of the world: for example, when we visited the one in Milan, the beans for the Starbucks Reserve Christmas Vintage 2022 coffee dedicated to the upcoming holidays were being roasted.
The Milanese Location
Each Starbucks Reserve Roastery has been designed with a strong focus on local connection : from a design perspective, each store has been studied by the in-house design team and then created together with local artisans . The Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Piazza Cordusio is dedicated to Milan, the city that inspires the Starbucks Experience.
The interior design project was conceived to create a storytelling about the brand with constant references between past, present and future. In the name of an intriguing game between tradition and innovation.
On the logistics front, however, the interiors are organized according to an ' island ' service criterion : entering the Milan headquarters, the customer is welcomed by a first frontal area dedicated to product merchandising, declined according to the territorial interpretation and available only in the location in question: in Milan at this time, in addition to the brand's most iconic products, an exclusive collection created in collaboration with Marcel Wanders Studio is available .
Immediately next door is a second space dedicated to the offer of artisanal food, sweet and savoury,...
Read moreGoing to the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Milan was like stepping into a whole new world of coffee. Right when I walked in, I could tell this place was special. It's not like a regular coffee shop. It's much bigger and has this cool mix of old Italian style and modern design that makes you feel cozy and excited at the same time.
The first thing that hits you is the smell of fresh coffee. It's everywhere, and it's amazing. You can actually see where they roast the beans, which is pretty cool. The people working there, the baristas, are super friendly and know everything about coffee. They're not just making your drink; they're making it with a lot of care and attention, like they're making a tiny piece of art just for you.
What's really special about this Starbucks is how much they love coffee. They want you to know all about where the coffee comes from and how they make it taste so good. The people there are happy to chat about the different kinds of coffee they have and what makes each one unique.
They've got all these different coffee drinks you've probably never heard of, and they're all delicious. Plus, they have some tasty snacks and food that go really well with coffee. Everything feels premium and well-thought-out, from the design of the place to the way they present your coffee.
But it's not just about drinking coffee. It's about experiencing it. The Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Milan shows how making coffee can be an art and how every cup has its own story. They really respect the tradition of Italian coffee but also add their own twist to it.
Even if you're not a big coffee lover, this place is worth visiting. It's not just about grabbing a quick coffee; it's about enjoying the experience and learning something new. The Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Milan is a place where you can relax, enjoy a great cup of coffee, and maybe leave a bit more knowledgeable about what makes your coffee so special.
In short, the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Milan is an amazing place. It's not just about selling coffee. It's about celebrating coffee in a city that loves its coffee as much as Milan does. If you're ever in Milan and looking for a unique coffee experience, this is the place to go. Trust me, it's an experience you...
Read moreI visited the Starbucks Roastery in Milan hoping to get my mother a nice souvenir. I saw a beautiful pink cup on a cart waiting to be displayed, and politely asked an employee if I could take a photo. They said yes. Later, my mother said she liked the pink cup, so I went back to try to buy it.
I approached a staff member -who, shockingly, turned out to be the manager, the one in the picture- and very politely asked if I could buy the pink cup since my mother liked it so much. Instead of answering me calmly, he suddenly started yelling at me in an extremely rude tone, shouting: âNO!! Iâm putting the cups on display. They are not for sale until later!â
I stayed calm and explained that I was leaving the country the next day and it would mean a lot to get the cup today, but he interrupted me again, yelling even louder, insisting there was absolutely no way to sell it to me.
I was stunned and deeply embarrassed. I moved away, heartbroken, and got another cup for my mother instead, but it wasnât what she truly wanted.
The worst part? When I went to pay, I asked the cashier if the pink cup was for sale, and she said yes, and even fetched one for me from under the counter. I asked about the rude employee and was told heâs the manager.
Itâs shocking and unacceptable that someone so rude -and frankly, I suspect, racist- is allowed to manage a place built entirely on customer service. His attitude was disgraceful and completely ruined my visit.
Starbucks should remember that their brand stands for warmth and respect, not for screaming at customers like theyâre a nuisance. Iâve been to many Starbucks all over the world, and this was the worst service Iâve ever encountered.
A manager who behaves this way doesnât deserve the title. I sincerely hope Starbucks takes action, because no customer deserves to be treated with such hostility, arrogance, and total lack of professionalism.
Shame on this manager for making what should have been a joyful experience into a...
