While the setting of the place seemed nice at first glance, it fell significantly short in terms of cleanliness—especially the bathrooms, which were filthy, had no running water in the toilets, and smelled terrible.
My friends had made a reservation in advance, and upon our arrival, we placed our order. Unfortunately, the girl taking our order had one of the worst attitudes I’ve experienced in a long time—barely spoke, offered no hospitality, and made the whole interaction awkward.
Although the food arrived quickly, it wasn’t the right order. One of the waiters became defensive and visibly annoyed when we tried to explain the issue. At one point, another staff member came over and demanded—multiple times—to know "who speaks Italian" so he could talk only to that person. Ironically, even my friend, who is ITALIAN, struggled to understand him, as the man's Italian was that perfect either, but we did not complained.
My husband, who does have a strong accent, was wrongly blamed for ordering a cheese plate, even though he clearly asked for a completely different dish. They kept insisting he had made the mistake. My own dish was also not what I ordered, and it had a random substitution I couldn't identify—even the ITALIANS at the table couldn’t tell what it was, even if we asked multiple times.
On top of that, the place was unbearably loud, and the seating was very uncomfortable.
The only saving grace was seeing my friends, which made the evening worthwhile despite the poor service, dirty facilities, and unimpressive food. Honestly, the food was forgettable—nothing...
Read moreI stopped for lunch for an aperitif. Don’t be fooled by the writing of Florence’s delicatessen, deceive. We chose an alcoholic with mixed chopping board of sausages and hams. I have nothing to say about pecorino cheese, too bad the staff does not turn off the difference between the different cheeses. A place that looks like an Italian trattoria in Florence with little Tuscan dishes. However we were served a huge cutting board for two people but with cold cuts that you can find anywhere else. Posciutto raw, bresaola, bologna, coppa, with two melon cubes and two vegetables. The canapés with slices of Tuscan bread was cut high and was inedible. Usually with cold cuts they bring you bread or focaccia, too bad that here you have to pay aside 6 euros (maybe 1 kg not really). The staff does not get to the suffience because like my table also others to order you have to enter to call the waiter. The customer left in disarray. The chopping board per person 15 euros. At the end aperitif for two with chopping board we spent 50 euros. I do not...
Read moreWe were on our way back to our place. When suddenly we had some cravings for wine and meat, but not heavy. My dear girlfriend, a picky girl with a fancy tongue who cannot endure the low-quality wine of peasants. So we had to pick some good wine after tasting of few that didn't pass her sensitive tongue sensors. The mixed gourmet was fantastico, but the plate of black Angus was freakin amazingo. The first girl who accepted us and rolled her eyes over picking a table vanished and was replaced by the greatest host we could get. Very generous dude. We thanked him with a nice tip and he gave us limoncello for dessert. In the end, we will forgive him for the mistake when my very generous girlfriend came to pay the bill and he thanked me, instead of her. We laughed it off, and he apologized it was hilarious, you had to be there, shut up. Eventually, we took some food home because it's totally worth it. 10/10 for an amazing experience and the great guy service. And *off out of 10 to the girl who did us a favour for moving 10 steps...
