My quest for a quick breakfast brought me to Nico Quick Bite in Milan. Let's just say it was a unique start to my day, more of a whirlwind than I had anticipated. Nestled very close to the central station, it initially seemed like the perfect place for some fuel before hopping on the train. But the culinary expedition that followed was a mix of hits and misses.
First off, the service was slower than a Sunday afternoon stroll in the park, and to my surprise, the price tag was a bit hefty for what we got - even by Milanese standards. Now let's talk about the American breakfast I ordered - quite frankly, it was more of a misadventure. The fried eggs were as dry as the Sahara desert, and they didn't even ask how I preferred them. I like my eggs with a little bit of a runny yolk, you know?
But the fun didn't stop there. The first time they tried to serve our coffee, it took a detour onto the table instead. Then, in a confusing twist, they totally forgot one of our orders. Picture this, seven of us sitting there, a symphony of grumbling stomachs and cooling meals, all waiting for the eighth breakfast to show up.
Despite these mishaps, Nico does have a fair selection for breakfast, including the option for a classic or American style meal. However, it seems the bread service is a bit of a puzzle - some egg breakfasts seem to come with it, others do not. I mean, who doesn't love a piece of toast to mop up some leftover yolk?
As for the waitstaff, they did seem to have a case of the "Mondays." One even slipped us the bill while we were still in the middle of our meal. A gentle reminder, folks - a little kindness goes a long way!
In the end, I can't ignore the fact that Nico Quick Bite is ideally located and does offer a decent breakfast selection. But be prepared for some bumps in the road. This place feels like a scrambled egg breakfast - it's got all the right ingredients but needs a little finesse in the cooking process. Would I come back? Maybe, but only if I'm not in a hurry or particularly...

We stopped here, like the most, because it’s near central railway station. We ordered Benedict eggs, English Breakfast, 2 cappuccinos takeaway and 2 Connoli
Eggs Benedict’s was without sauce which is weird, the salad was sour and spinach was just wet dead grass without any taste. The only good thing was a salmon. Anything without salt or pepper.
For English breakfast the eggs aren’t included in the dish, so you need to pay extra. There’s a bacon in the menu but they didn’t put it in the dish. Sausages were cold, salad was also sour. The saddest English breakfast we’ve ever tried, the same as for Benedict.
About Connoli they forgot to serve it for us, so we had to wait and then asked twice. We were in hurry so these cannolis travel with us now.
The only good thing is...
Read moreI know so many hotels nearby and visitors might come for convenience. BUT IM TELLING YOU GUYS DON'TCOME! There are so many better restaurant around the corner. This is the worse restaurant i had in Italy. If u don't know how to cook steak, don't put it on menu. First i ordered a steak fillet for medium rare, it came overcooked, not even well done. Then i send it back , it came out burn outside with a STOME COLD inside steak fillet , im not taking risk to eat a raw beef, it's not eatable, then i changed for a pasta dish. I was trying to be nice not finish with just a glass of wine. I tried to ask another pasta dish that they recommended. End up i have to pay for that not eatable steak as well. The waitress were not polite, gave me bad faces and not apologising when i told them the dish wasn't ok. That manager even worse, said to me all foul language and bad words when I refused to pay for a not eatable steak, he's the terrible manager i met, not even explain politely...
