Osteria il Melograno — Restaurant in Milan

We visited this restaurant at the first night of our stay in Milan. Beause of its good reviews on Google Map. However our overall experience did not meet our expectation. Small but comfortable, it seems to be a place where loc people would dine at. The owner and her staff were quite friendly and willing to help, which mentioned in many reviews. Then here are what I think they could have done better: Italian menu only, and the staff speak little English but not enough to explain the dishes. We ended up ordering our food using the pictures posted on Google Map reviews. Food is very salty. I mean everything we ordered had way too much salt. Or maybe this is the taste of Milanian food? It is our first dinned here though. They charged us 3 Euros per person for using napkins, which was never heard of in Europe before. I don't think we would visit this...

Siamo stati al Melograno ieri con la famiglia per il pranzo di Natale, finalmente un classico ed ottimo menù natalizio, (non è poi cosi' facile e scontato trovarlo in questo periodo nei ristoranti milanesi rimasti aperti per Natale e che divagano spesso inserendo per fare scenografia delle portate troppo particolari e non gradite a tutti) Tutto ottimo come qualità e freschezza dagli antipasti (tantissimi)tra cui segnalo come eccellenza in particolare le burratine al pistacchio, i fagottini di speck e scamorza ed il crostone di polenta con porcini e zola, a seguire due ottimi primi, ravioli di magro in salsa di noci e zola con un sapore delicato ed intenso di basilico e le lasagne caserecce al forno,per terminare un tenerissimo arrosto di vitello contronato da patate duchessa, dessert panettone con gelato e due eccelnti vini di accompagnamento Dolcetto e Souvignon e fer finire caffè ed amaro della casa realizzato dallo Chef con un mix di erbe veramente eccellente. Tutto questo ad un prezzo onestissimo in un ambiente non molto grande ma proprio per questo ancor più caldo e accogliente grazie anche alla estrema cortesia,simpatia e professionalità dei due coniugi proprietari grazie a quali abbiamo trascorso un classico e per questo ancor più bello giorno di Natale...

The lady boss is very friendly and supportive during some of our Company events for the achievers awards. The food is good we had a blast day with the jug of wine. 🍷 it's something like very original of Italian which is u can't find in fine dining restaurants.. we prefer something like this for our dinner moments in Milan.
