Recently, I had the pleasure of tasting a pizza at San Giorgio pizzeria in the heart of Milano. I opted for a pizza with buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto, and arugula, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The pizza was perfect – from the crispy yet fluffy crust, through the juicy and flavorful fresh buffalo mozzarella, to the rich aroma of the prosciutto, which was perfectly complemented by the fresh arugula. Every bite was a celebration for the taste buds.
However, San Giorgio excels not only in the quality of its pizzas. The atmosphere of the place is cozy and friendly, ensuring that every guest feels more than welcome. The staff was exceptionally attentive and willing, adding a positive note to the overall experience.
Besides my experience, it's worth mentioning the wide range of pizzas that San Giorgio offers. From classic Italian recipes to some innovative combinations that satisfy even the most demanding tastes. Whether you are a meat lover, a vegetarian, or someone who enjoys a pizza with a rich topping, you will find something that appeals to you.
The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the ingredients and the authentic Italian experience. San Giorgio is undoubtedly a place you will want to return to, whether you are looking for the perfect spot for a family lunch or a romantic dinner.
In summary, San Giorgio pizzeria in Milano is a true gem that no pizza lover should miss. If you find yourself in Milano and are looking for a pizza that is not only delicious but also unforgettable, San Giorgio is your definitive choice. I recommend it without hesitation to anyone who wants to enjoy a piece of authentic Italy on...
Read moreLooking for a pizzeria, we found this place on Google : very good rating of 4.8 and decided to give it a try. And the least I can say is that this is probably the first time we notice such a huge difference between Google rating (and the associated expectation) versus real life... The pizza wasn't bad per se, and we didn't get sick, but it wasn't very good either, nor with a lot of toppings... We ordered the "normal" size pizza, which ended up to be quite small, at least smaller than what you usually get elsewhere. But the price on the contrary was more on the higher bound (10 euros) compared to what you can find in other places. To us it was just a regular pizza, with nothing exceptional, slightly overpriced. I would have given 3 stars if the boss hadn't asked us to pay cash and overcharged us a few euros (compared to the menu - unfortunately we realized too late). So you'd better check the menu and what you ordered before paying... No idea how this pizzeria managed to reach a rating of 4.8... but this will definitely be the biggest mystery of our trip to Milan ! (when we were there, the boss gave some free deserts to some foreign tourists and asked them to leave a review "NOW". "Not tomorrow, not in one hour, you do it NOW". It might be the reason why... Next step, you lock customers in the kitchen, and let them go only after they leave a good review...). So no, this is definitely neither the best pizzeria in Italy, nor the best in Milano (otherwise I would feel very sorry for my Italian friends...) and apart for the name ("San Giorgio") there is nothing...
Read moreWhat a brilliant find!! Amazing service and friendly people. We (four of us) arrived at the place an there was only a two seater table available, but without being asked they set up an additional table and chairs and provided us all with our own menus. As soon as we were ready to order they came and took all our orders brining the food out only 10 minuets later!
During our wait we saw many people coming past greeting the owners and many other ordering takeout. The place was well known in the area and for good reason. Just the service its self was brilliant, the owners all had a great attitude and a great sense of humour. You could tell they loved their job.
But now onto the important part, the food!! I had a Saporito Panni and to say the portion was generous would be an under-statement, the sandwich was a good 17cm, the size of my forearm!! AND it did not slack on its toppings either!!! The bread was fresh and the ingredients too, it had been made to order something not commonly seen as sandwiches typically are made in the morning and left to sit on display. You could really taste the difference.
Together with table service, food and a coke the four of us ate for under 35 euros. They even gave us two free water bottles at the end of our meal and wished us a great rest of our day!!
All together a great place with amazing people and plenty of options from sandwiches to pizzas to kebabs and even a list of desserts and meals.
Definitely...
