Perfect Start to the Weekend. This is an extremely attentive and well-curated collection of talent. I’ve been twice, once with a group of four for dinner, and most recently on my own. Both were excellent. Here are my thoughts, based mostly on my experience tonight, dining alone:
The staff are plentiful and show their genuine desire to please. Upon arrival, I was met with a smile and welcome, and—without reservation—shown to a seat in the bar area. It was early, around 8:15pm, and there were plenty of seats, though they soon filled up.
The two main highlights of the night were employees Eduardo (server) and Gregory (cocktail master). Eduardo began the delights when I asked for his help deciding between two cocktails. I explained what I liked about both, and he recommended a third, classic, cocktail, that wasn’t on the menu, but that had both of the elements I wanted (smokiness and tartness). The cocktail arrived, made by Gregory, and it was superb. Every element I mentioned was there. Sheer perfection.
Later I had a chance to speak with the cocktail maker (“Cocktail Caravaggio” should be his title): Gregory made my next drink in consultation with me and broke down all of the key elements. Did I want whiskey or another mescal? would I prefer sour or bitter,? etc. A few minutes later a cocktail arrived that would challenge anything made in Chicago or New York or Boston. It was superb! I could see that he was truly listening to each thing I mentioned.
I also ordered a pizza with a salad for a starter. But before I even had a chance to order, within 30 seconds of being seated I was presented with a bowl of small, delicate olives and crispy charred bread slices.
If half-star ratings were allowed, I’d give this 4 ½. A few minor suggestions for elevating the experience: -the cocktail napkins are great for drinks, but a cloth napkin would really match the quality of this establishment better, for those who order food -the pizza was delicious, but could benefit from 60 seconds longer in the oven, to develop more crispiness -there were a few minutes where my water glass was empty; either more frequent pouring or a small pitcher to pour my own would have been nice
A couple of last kudos: -the bathrooms were immaculately clean, and the foot-flush mechanism is something I wish every restaurant would adapt. -the Porto exfoliating hand soap was amazing. I left the bathroom hand sink feeling like I’d just visited a hand spa!
Overall, my suggestion to future diners is to come early (around 8pm) to be able to enjoy the excellent attentiveness of the staff. And don’t be afraid to dine alone. You’ll probably get even better service!
I’ll be back next time I visit Milan. This is a place to savor! Arrive early and trust the expert service. The staff have been trained well and will be able to help you order if you are clear about what you like.
I’m already looking forward to my next time...
Read moremy wife and I recently embarked on an enchanting evening at this charming Italian haven. From the moment we crossed the threshold, we were greeted by an atmosphere that radiated warmth and authenticity.
Upon arrival, it became apparent that making a reservation in advance was a wise choice, as this establishment is consistently brimming with eager patrons. The demand for a table here is a testament to the restaurant's reputation and allure.
As we entered, we were presented with a delightful choice: two distinct but equally inviting realms within the restaurant. One, a lively bar area with a convivial ambiance, beckoned with the promise of craft cocktails and animated conversations. The other, a more refined dining section, exuded a quiet elegance, perfect for a romantic evening or a celebratory gathering.
The heart of any Italian restaurant is undoubtedly its pizza, and this establishment did not disappoint. In fact, the pizzas served here have easily earned a place among the best we've ever had the pleasure of savoring. Each slice was a masterpiece, boasting a thin, perfectly crispy crust that cradled a symphony of fresh, high-quality toppings. The Margherita, a testament to the simplicity of Italian cuisine, was a pure delight, while the inventive options on the menu offered a delightful fusion of flavors.
But the gastronomic delights did not stop with the pizza. We were equally impressed by the restaurant's extensive cocktail menu, which showcased a remarkable range of concoctions that catered to every palate. From classic Negronis to innovative twists on timeless favorites, the mixologists here demonstrated a mastery of their craft. I would highly recommend exploring their cocktail offerings; they are the ideal companions to a memorable meal.
Beyond the culinary excellence, it's worth noting the attentive and knowledgeable staff. Our servers provided insights into the menu and were genuinely passionate about the food and drink they served. Their warm hospitality added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience.
In conclusion, dining at this Italian gem was an experience we will cherish. From the delectable pizzas that rival those in the heart of Naples to the extensive and imaginative cocktail menu, every aspect of our evening was a culinary journey that exceeded our expectations. Whether you seek the conviviality of the bar area or the refinement of the dining room, this restaurant offers an inviting and unforgettable experience. Do yourself a favor and book a table in advance, for this Italian oasis is not a secret to be kept—it's a destination to...
Read moreMy wife and I went out for a wonderful evening in an authentic Italian atmosphere. The welcome was quick and good and they immediately recognized the order we made in advance.
When we arrived it became clear that a reservation in advance was important, because this bar-restaurant provides a fun and enjoyable atmosphere and the demand for a table here is high and this is also the proof that the restaurant is good and in demand. It is possible to arrive without a reservation, but you may not be accepted or, if you are lucky, they may accept you after waiting.
When we entered, we could choose between two separate but equally nice places inside the restaurant. One, a bar area with a young and pleasant atmosphere and if you sit at the bar you are also exposed to the preparation of the cocktails. The second, is internal and more in the relaxed atmosphere of an Italian restaurant and more relaxed and especially suitable for families.
The heart of the whole menu is undoubtedly the pizza. Each pizza is more special and delicious than the other, and even if you "took a risk" and you don't like something, the excellent staff will make sure to replace it for you. The main thing is to keep the atmosphere as good as possible and that nothing spoils your enjoyment, the authentic "simple" margherita pizza ended up being the winning choice, but it's still worth trying at least a few types.
Regarding the cocktails, order and let the staff also recommend you, they know their job, it's delicious, it's accurate and it will improve your experience.
Beyond the culinary excellence, it is worth noting to praise the attentive and professional staff.
Summary of the experience, a young and fun Italian restaurant that we returned to for the second time and each time the atmosphere, the flavors and the fun only get better. Our return visit confirmed the continued excellence. Recommended for anyone visiting the area. By the way, one of the leading restaurants in chef...
