The best food we had in this trip to Italy! Starting with the bread and crackers, the bread was the best bread we got in a restaurant so far, it was fresh and good, the crackers were also such a fun addictive snack to have, hut careful! Don't eat too much, you'll need plenty of room for the real amazing food... First we ordered risotto a la Milanese and pasta Carbonara, both were so perfect, the risotto is by far the best risotto we've in our lives, so creamy!! And the flavors, oh god the flavors! Moving on to the rich pasta Carbonara which was mind blowing! After we finished these 2 dishes and realized we still have room for more we ordered the T-bone, which was perfectly made, the fillet side was just so soft if melted in our mouths! We finished with the tiramisu which was very good and the panna cotta which was also a nice classic dish. I definitely recommend eating there at least one and preferably more if you visit Milan. I will add that I think the staff can be a little bit nicer, but that's I think is a general cultural gap from where I'm from to Italy cause it's like that in most places in Italy, nonetheless, the food is just so good that it doesn't matter.

Our review is the same as City Plant Displays, as we attended with them: On our holiday we searched the top rated restaurants in Milan, and Trattoria de la Trebia Milano was straight to the top of the various lists found; including TripAdvisor. So we decided to head that way one night to get a table. Upon arriving we found that the restaurant was busy. The staff told us they only had a booking ready for the next day, at 9:30pm. This a little late to eat for my liking, but we booked anyway, excited to taste what was supposedly the best food Milan had to offer. Arriving the next day on time, we were greeted warmly and seated, despite not being speakers of the Italian Language. It was apparently the the staff that we spoke English; due to the communication being carried out in the English language. Despite this we were seated and provided with Italian menus, no offer for drinks made. The next 10 minutes were spent trying to translate the menu and asking the staff to translate different bits. Eventually we decided to just pick what we knew they had based on what others in the restaurant were ordering, and pick a few random things. We’d tried to get the attention of some staff members, but it had proven difficult; the staff always rushing past. Finally we gain the attention of a staff member who took our drink orders and started taking our orders. This was the 4th waiter we asked to translate menu items, and she was the first one to ask if we wanted an English menu… None of us had thought to ask as we were clearly English, and had asked 3 other staff members to translate items to English. It would seem the staff paid such little attention to us that they had not thought to even offer us an English menu. In all fairness, this is a simple oversight, and very forgivable. However, the issues did not stop there. The next issue was with hygiene. Whilst dinning on the bread left out for us, and waiting for our drinks, we noticed that all of the walls around us were covered in small flies. This is shocking enough for any restaurant, but especially for one that displays it’s salads and steaks so openly. This alone is enough of an issue to have a serious health inspection. Now waiting for our meal in fear of what was to occur, our side dishes arrived first; one by one, roughly 5 minutes apart for 3 different side dishes. The sides are supposed to be delivered with the main course as to avoid them going cold, and because that is the general use of a side dish; they’re not starters. The other issue with this was the size of the dishes in comparison to the size of the table. The side dishes were delivered in full sized pasta bowls. We were sat at a small table for 4, with only 3 of us present; still little amount of breathing room. Only half way through out dining experience and we had 3 orders of sides, a bottle of wine, multiple glasses, a bottle of water, some soft drinks, cutlery, and confectionaries. This alone barely fit on the table, let alone the 2 t-bone steaks that were yet to arrive. Next our steaks arrived. We had ordered medium cooked, but what was delivered was a semi-burned exterior to the steak, whilst the inside was very rare cooked. If this was a cheap restaurant and the other issues had not occurred, I would have forgiven this; but these steaks cost €30.00 each. One of our other dining attendees had ordered a pasta, but due to poor translation (or lack of explanation) on the menu, what arrived was a potato based dish. The rest of the night carried out with similar poor service and food quality issues. The food had no flavour to it, it was exceedingly difficult to gain the attention of the staff, a few drinks were never delivered, and the end result was stomach cramps and food poisoning. We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. We have been disgusted with the service, food, and hygiene. Our recommendation would be a health inspection and revamping. Review Edit - We have attached images of proof to counter Trattoria de la Trebia Milano's appalling review responce.
