Ristorante 'a Ricetta — Restaurant in Minori

This is not a review of the food offered in this restaurant, as we never got to be seated. We went to check if they had any free spots for dinner on the terrace at around 8 pm. Nothing was available and we made a reservation for 9.30 pm with a nice young man, who promised us that at 9.30 we will be ready to eat. We went for a walk and passed the restaurant again at 9.10 and saw a free table. We asked and were shoo-ed away, saying to come back at 9.30. We came back at 9.30 on the clock and they had a 4-person table free, but they told us we have to wait. While another couple finishes. A couple that was seated at a 4-person table. Because they were worried that if they give us the bigger table they won't be able to accomodate bigger groups. We were paying customers on their doorstep and they were literally telling us "we cannot seat you in case someone better comes along". Unpleasant staff all around. Just save...

I usually don't leave reviews for places but this one was just too much to not leave one. I don't understand how this place is even surviving in Minori, where it is surrounded by restaurants and cafes offering excellent and authentic italian food...to say it was aweful would be an understatement. We couldnot even put the food in our mouths. We ordered dinner for 4 people and the food was not even sufficient for 2. We ordered a Ravioli which was completely dry and tough, no taste at all... we also ordered a baked rice and it qas like someone just dropped an uncooked canned tomato into a spoonful of rice and gave to us... We also ordered a fish fry platter and it was barely anything to fill ourselves. I am surprised to see any amount if positive reviews for the place. Given the fact that most of them are from Local guides , I can guess how the reviews might have been got.... horrible...

We were greeted very warmly by the entire staff the moment we walked in. All of the appetizers were not only incredibly fresh but absolutely delicious. For mains, we had a whole fish, a steak, and two pastas—each one beyond delicious, with portions that were more than generous (I’m honestly not sure why some people complained about portion size).

We finished with two homemade desserts that were just as fantastic as the rest of the meal. The chef even came out personally to check on us, which made the experience feel even more special.

We’re already planning to go back in a couple of days—without a doubt, this was the best food we’ve had on the Amalfi Coast. Highly...
