We went on a gastronomic tour of all of Emilia Romagna and this was our clear favourite and all-round best restaurant. Why? To win such an accolade, it goes without saying that the food had to be fantastic, and it was - local ingredients, loving and creative constructions of traditional dishes, mouth-watering flavours. Great menu and everything we tasted was delicious. It’s all served in a perfectly sized space, cosy without being cramped, and really warm-feeling. On top of that, the wine list was superb, and again made great use of the local offerings. Importantly, expert advice was on offer on both the menu and wine list, which was dispensed in a friendly way and which made the meal so much better. And that is the final factor behind the ranking of this place - the welcome was wonderful and the staff were so kind and friendly, as well as experts in their food and drink. If I could give Piccola Osteria Zemian 10 stars I would and I would also eat there for three meals a day, every day, if I weren’t stuck in...
Read morewe had a great experience lunching here, especially because of the extraordinary service! they were fun and professional and enriched the dining experience.
i had one of the best wines of my life here— a lambrusco (see image) that was fruity, hints of raspberry, absolutely delicate and delicious.
my main, the balsamico braised pork was gorgeous and filling. a very smart way to use balsamico, i think. i tried my family’s dishes too and i would say the ragù is a standout, the best one i’ve had in italy. the rabbit dish was okay but the mince was a bit dry and pasta sauce not the most flavourful. the other slow-cooked meat dish, i’m sorry i forgot what it was called, was really good too! and the side salad was fresh :)
the dessert was so fun, a lambrusco mousse! it was light and had a good berry flavour. recommend for those who want something sweet and simple!
overall lovely! also i would advise to book a table a few days in advance as it gets busy,...
Read moreThe best meal !!! My husband and I have been in Italy for about 2 weeks already. We ve has pizza, pasta, Florentine steak- all the famous dishes- but this place has been our favourite of OUR WHOLE TRIP !!! Every bite was so flavourful. We had the risotto of the day chef's kiss, I had the pork, he had the chicken !!! It was fantastic. Other posts say this place is a bit pricey... I totally disagree!!! The risotto (we shared) was 10 €, the pork 14, the chicken 12, we had to bottles of local sparkling / fizzy red wine - each only 12 € !?!?! Amazing. Make sure to call ahead because they are a very popular but small place - which, I think, enhances the experience. Our table was needed for another reservation so they graciously made us a small spot with chairs to finish the rest of our wine so we were not rushed and enjoyed the evening. Whatta gem ! Highly...
