Enoteca Federico II — Restaurant in Montefalco

We went to the bar section, rather than the restaurant. We have had drinks there on earlier occasions and it was quite ok with decent service. Today was different. The waitress who served us was basically hostile. We ordered drinks and a tasting platter of cheeses. Half the cheeses we were served were not just past their sell by date, they were on the point of rotting. When we complained the staff (waitress and another who seemed to be management) made out that there was nothing wrong and told us that Pecorino is like that. Had to wait a-g-e-s for food and drinks. Had to motion to the waitress several times. Forgot drinks, served others who had arrived later before us. However, food was decent enough (pizza). Maybe the base too thin...I know authentic Italian is thin base but this was like wafer. Very tasty though. Nice staff though, maybe they were just over-run and not able to deal with lots of tables rather than being unprofessional. Nice place in general, but the food is disappointing. I’ve ordered a burger but it was dry as a sand. My daughter had a pizza and it was ok but too crispy as the dough must have been dry. The service exists, that’s all I can say in that matter. They just doesn’t care and barely can speak English. I understand that I should not expect from the service fluent English but just asking how is the food...
